The only differences I could/can understand are that the J version isn't carbon and has cables!

1. Is this J version same as the one I have?
2. Are there any more serious difference between the two VFS2000 and VFS2000J?

robert from Ko told me that the only difference between the 2k and 2kJ is that the 2kJ leaves a little bit of battery so when you dump, you'll have some steering left. i made the mistake of running my batteries down at tamiya raceway all the way down...and my car wouldnt turn, it would just go crawl straight. robert correct me if im wrong on that one.

Nick,
The difference between the normal and J version is the BEC system in the ESC. The normal version will allow you to fully run down the battery pack. The J version will limit the power to the motor once the voltage drops to about 2A. Then the power is prioritized to the steering.
Also, the normal version comes with 12GA wire and a super shotki diode. The J version comes with 15GA wire pre-assembled and a normal shotki diode.
The J version was designed as more of a semi-professional product, for those that found it sort of difficult to dial the VFS in. The normal version is more of a professional version for those that are comfortable utilizing all of there battery pack.

Kingcrab,
The manual is available online at the following location:
go to the kopropo site. There, click on support and then on manuals. You will find a list of manuals that are available for download for free.

rc... if you have time.. scour the different hobby shops in your area. i bought my hara twister for $130. it was sitting in case at my LHS.. all dusty surrounded by GT7s, Quantum Comps and others. looks like no one knew what it was. as soon as i saw it, i did a double take on the price.. then bought it without hesitation. so if i were you... just go hunting, you never know what you might find.

Yea...I will have to do that right after the holidays...Now I'm debating whether to get the Twister for around $170+/- or order one from HK for $190.00+/- with the handheld programmer.... the Twister would look great on Pro4.
If I get the handheld programmer it about $65.00+
decisions....decisions...

Default repair

Can anyone pls tell me where can I send my VFS for repair? I just brough it a few days ago and I accidentally connect the positive to the negative to the batt for less then a few seconds. The esc still worked fine until the next day I try it again, I found that there was no brake. I disconnect everything and put it on again and this time, the motor kept turning without need to switch on the esc. Anyone know what is the estimated repair fee I must pay? Btw I m from Singapore

Ko Propo Staff: I'm not use plug on my batt, I solder it to the esc wire, when I repeak, I always solder batt to esc wire then repeak , this will damage this esc or not? But with my old esc, it has no problem.

KO Propo Staff,

Will even an instance of wrong battery polarity on the VFS-2000 damage it? What happened was that I connected a corally plug to one end of the pack and merely touched the other plug to the other end of the pack, then my car suddenly jerked backwards... The esc still worked fine during a race, but after Alucard's experience, i am worried that my esc is going down soon. Is there any tell tale signs that my ESC is damaged? Anyway that I can check without sending it for repair? Thanks.

Kenneth
