This may sounds silly.

If i get one of this ESC without the handheld programming thingy, is the stock settings inside the ESC good for stock motor or mod motor?

there's 32 stages.. and the default setting in the ESC is at 17. its a pretty neutral setting. its good enough, but not great. you should really look into getting the programmer so u can adjust the different frequencies. when you do this, you'll notice a difference.

Close-up of the new speedo:

in small print on the esc is says
"interactive communication system"

wonder what new feature is that...maybe similar to LRP's reactive frequency system?

Default ICS

The ICS (Interactive Communication System) is the name that we have given to represent the ablity to communicate with it. Examples, the VFS (changing frequencies with a hand held unit or the PC), ICS servos (change setting of the servo) and EX-10 Helios (setting changes and Melodies).

As far as the VFS-1 and VFS-2, exciting things to come. Release will not be until late this year.

is that an anolouge switch on the vfs-1? Will the production model not have a digital switch like the vfs 2000? if so how will the speedo be setup to the transmitter

i toasted the board. the pos. and neg wires from the caps crossed (they werent insulated) and it fried the esc when i grabbed a handful of throttle. it cost $80 i think for a new board. dont quote me on that though. it was fixed in a couple of days. Robert did a great job.

lesson of the day: make sure your caps dont cross wires
