Default ROAR Nationals Bids for '09

ROAR Nationals Bids It is once again that time of the year, bid season for all '09 ROAR National Championship races. Tracks owners you only have a couple of weeks left to get those bids in. Bids are due by 7/31/2008. If your a racer and interested in the posibilities of your home track hosting next years ROAR National for your genere of racing then talk to your tracks owner and let them know this.

If you interested in bidding and don't know what to do it's fairly simple. Start by downloading the following from the ROAR website, RMT Nationals Guidlines, Sanction Form and the Template for Bid for National Championships. Read the complete RMT Nationals Guidlines first. This will direct you as to what you need to do and be aware of for your bid. Once you've completed reading the RMT Nationals Guidlines you'll need to complete/create your bid. Use the template that ROAR provides, that's what it is for. Complete everything in the bid to the best of your abilities and be as informative as possible thru your bid in regards to the bidding facility. Make sure you have the sanction form filled and signed by your region director. All bids must contain a signed sanction application. Once you have everything filled out and ready to go email it to the ROAR Competition Director, Ruben Benitez at [email protected]

To all our bidders, thanks for supporting ROAR, happy bidding and good luck!!!

Can't do that until all bids have been received and reviewed by their respective class committee. If a track wants to come on here and post that info that's their prerogative. I can't, sorry

Thanks Richie! I thought about doing just that. But I doubt anyone would go for having the Nats at the same place two years in a row. Maybe 2010.

Never know, if no-one else bids, you might just get it again.

If the nats were in the same place 2-3 years in a row maybe the nats would have meaning again and the turn outs may pick back up because the racers know that the race is in the hands of someone that has proven they can step up to the plate.

No one seemed to care that the Reedy race was in the same place every year and I doubt that the IIC will be moving out of Vegas any time soon.....LOL You did a good job and all they can say is no so what's the harm in putting in for it again

I think having the Nationals in the middle of the country at the best on-road asphalt in the middle of the country would be a very good option for ROAR. ROAR maybe could consider placing the Nationals for each class in different parts of the country at the facilities that want to host the event and are willing to put on a very good event that will help promote the sport.

Just a thought,

JoeM

I agree. I think it would be great if ROAR if ROAR found a worthy track, they would run the race in the same place year after year. Maybe they could give a 3 year (or more) "contract" or something like that - like what SCCA does.

I also have been lobbying for the race to be on the same date from year to year. The "outlaw" races have a big advantage because competitiors can plan a year ahead. ROAR Nationals always seem to be a last minute decision (relatively speaking) and drivers have to see if they can fit it in.

I also think we should open the race up to anyone regardless of country of origin. Having the best drivers in attendance would give the race more prestige.

I would love to see the race open to all competitors! Anyone know if this has been considered (voted) in the past?
