No worries, when I typed that I had just gotten to work... I almost ran a co-worker's car into a giant ball of tin due to him not being awake... Just a little frazzled.

Being from N.E. we are taught that almost immediately. I would think they would have taught that in geography in 3rd grade.

Not kidding when I say that St. Johnsbury is a ride (esp. from NY). Good news, for those traveling up form LI, there is a hotel and campground right around the corner:
goggle map here

Now that I pissed everyone off... what do we think the rules for this series will be? 4 races, 1 drop.

Madness always has the Jam and it is a great race. I am sure that Heath has a trophy race coming up in the season we can piggy back something off of. RCE's big race seems to be the Howler (I am working to push that date back due the popularity of the big race at the Gate). We just need a date for RC Toybox and this thing is pretty solid. If we really wanted to make it 5 and a drop, 360 (awesome track) will have that east coast series that can be piggy backed off of.

i like the idea of piggybacking the races, it makes the races double the fun, toybox is looking like sometime in early january, like the 10th, or 11th, but anytime is still open with the owners.

get some dates from 360, if they'd like to hold a series race with there big race then we'll take it!
a 5 race series with your worst finish dropped to give a final of 4 points events, a scoring system 100 for 1st, 99 second and so on, tq an automatic 1 point, and 1 point for fast lap of the day!

i'm heading to RCM in a week, i'll talk to chris about what he thinks and what date is best.

rules for classes are same being used at Cleveland, and IIC,
ROAR rules for batteries, chassis weight, and so on.

2 bodies are legal for foam R9-F, Mohawk 2.
ride height 4.5mm, body height no limit, just wing level with roof.
foam tire, any available at time of races, tire compound is left to track regulations

also, do we want the pro 10GT class included?
lots of talk about this class at the toybox right now, who's interested.

Ricky, Saturdays are NOT out of the question, I'm pretty sure that is what would work best for out of towners to excitement.

Guys, this is a good start, make like viagra and keep it up!

I 'think' it was 3 years ago.. I think.

would you guys be able to come up with Carissa? Toybox throws down with the oval action as well and they have a girl up there putting the smack down on everyone. Never know Alex, I think she's in 7th grade, so you two would have a lot to talk about

it's about a 4 hour drive from Enfield CT, to St.johnsbury VT
for dementions of the track and other hobby shop info visit
www.rctoybox.com, track size is a little smaller than maximus, lap times are about 10 flat, fast drivers hit 9.6 and 9.5.

I've just recently found out about the RC Excitement track. I've been hobby shop-hopping and probably ruled it out due to the extreme-north-ness of MA.

Are these races able to be spectated (would I need to purchase admission/pay to get in)? I might be able to come up and would definitely like to see the races.

I am a drifter and am near Worcester MA. All the local tracks/hobby shops aren't doing so well. There was one in West Boylston that closed down recently...

a very strict entry fee is enforced: $250 to cover insurance and membership dues before you are allowed on the track and testing area.

just kidding. We frequently have BBQ food and racing Tuesday nights, starting "around" 6pm. No fee's to watch, laughs and tons of information are also free of charge. Very helpful place with an easy going crowd that 'happens' to have some extremely fast driva's. C'mon down and check it out.

Alex: toybox is a crazy little track that uses 2 different types of carpet. I personally got my ass handed to me while Kenny shattered records. It's got a maximus sized feel to it, good shop (although I don't know if they stock AE. Ricky?) and good crowd. They actually have people who show up and sit in stands to watch the racing! I Wish! I never said anything, but thats cool.

Holy crap bear you had me for a second D:

I'll definitely try to check it out sometime. Unfortunately, I drive a Tamiya TA-05 that had it's rear ball diff turned into a spool. It also has a Mamba Max with a 6900 kV,so I think I am not legal on all accounts. Plus I still have a Futaba AM transmitter. Yeah...

Also that race schedule happens to be when school starts. And I leave for college in a year. Bummer (at least for RC racing. I'll see if I can get something started in Boston)

Is there much traffic on a normal basis? Course, I'd like to set my car up with rubber and see how it spins around the track, but I feel like I'd need the track for myself for the safety of others. So I might be better off just watchin'

Ok, beefy, RCE is only 20 minutes from Worcester (up 190 to 2w for about a mile ... etc), so a trip really isn't that bad. The place in W.Boylston closed because there was a fire in the building, and the owner thought that it was a great time to close the doors - not because of financial troubles. While the series (the topic of this thread) is fall/winter, we are racing all summer.

We have a class that is great for beginners called Speed Spec. Todd has 2 chassis in stock. The best part is that the owner of the mfg. company races at our track and will make sure your car is in top notch shape for racing. There are a lot of other people that are always willing to help. The chassis are short money, and can even use the components from your drift car to make it work (the class uses 21.5 brushless motors, will work with the mamba, probably best with a sensored esc).

The drive isn't that far, but at this point it's a matter of whether my parents are willing to drive just so I can "drive around my little RC cars". I am on my way to getting my license, but I won't be put on insurance because of how expensive it is for a Junior Operator to be on insurance. Plus, I'm sort of a busy guy in school...

I'll see what I can do, because I'd really like to come down some time.

AE parts for the TC5 are available at the RC Toybox, along with corally, xray, and hot bodies cars.
