Default New LRP Pulsar Competition charger or USED Turbo 35 BL Stealth?

I currently own a Turbo 35 GFX and I love it, but i've got 10+ batteries and sometimes run up to 3 different classes on one race day, so it's hard to get by on just my one GFX charger, so I need to purchase a second charger.

What would you guys reccomend, a USED Turbo 35 BL Stealth or a NEW LRP Pulsar Competition charger?

Space and size is not an issue at all and I do not have a problem with spending extra money to buy a used BL Stealth.

Thanks, and any advice is appreciated.

Since you already have good motor run and discharge functions on the GFX, I would just get the LRP, if those are your only two choices. Personally I would get a CE Pitbull. That is what I use. I have 1 GFX and 1 Pitbull.

Thanks for the reply, I have not even considered a Pitbull until I read your post. I have heard great things about it, and at that cost you can't beat it!

I think I just may go for the Pitbull, what are your opinions on it?

Im in the same boat as you. I own a T35BL and i wanted a second charger but i wanted to save space for some of the evening races i run where i just race one class.

I picked up a reedy Quasar PRO. This is why its great:
-AC/DC for the days you dont feel like lugging a power supply(i have yet to hook it to my power suppy!)
-20amp discharge(its not 30 but better then 10amps)
-Cycles packs(not a biggy since we own the T35s)
-all the delta peak and dicharge cut off settings are user set.

To me there are only 2 charges to even bother looking at as a back to a Turbo charger:
-REEDY QUASAR PRO
-LRP PULSAR PRO (adds motor run in but has lower discharge rate and is only DC)

Great chargers but cost almost as much and offer less features:
-Pitbull
-Novak Millenium sereis

PS:

I have heard of complaints about 4cells not charging on the Reedy. I have never had any issues using this charger. I have been charging:
4 cell
3000s
3300s

6cell
3000s
3300s

Just an FYI.

Accord, I really like the Pitbull because it is the same charge method as the GFX and all other CE chargers, so you know its treating your cells right. I would not recommend the Quasar as I don't feel it keeps the batteries in as good of condition. I had a Quasar for a while, for the same reasons that Joel stated and got rid of it for the Pit Bull. I just figure, you can't go wrong with Competition Electronics products. They have been the best in the industry for a long time.

I actually owned a Quasar Pro aswell, I really didn't like it at all so I sold it. Not to mention the noises it makes are the most obnoxious out of any charger on the market (you Quasar owners know what i'm talking about, LOL )

I have decided to go with the Pitbull, because I agree, Competition Electronics are hands down the best, there are a lot of imitations, but they're the originals and for the price you can't beat it! I run everything off of my 55amp power supply, so having the ability to plug the charger into a wall isn't a concern of mine.

Thanks for all the advice guys!

if you wanna get a CE why not the Turbo 35 BL over the Pitbull?
might as well get the best since you can afford it.

and if you ever decide to rematch your batteries, having 2 CE Turbo is better than 1

pulsar vs pitbull i'd take the pulsar.. that was the 2 shortlisted choices when i was buying my charger.

pulsar has 8amps max as opposed to pitbull's 7amps
linear & flex charging as opposed to pitbull's linear only
voltmeter & ammeter & time display, both has it
adjustable peak detect voltage
pulsar can power lathe or break in motor, pitbull doesnt
pulsar has a crappy 10amp discharge, pitbull doesnt

thats how i look at it.. i heard the Pulsar was pretty crappy quality wise when it was first out, i recently got one and it works like a charm

In order to get a Turbo 35 BL, i'd have to spend at least another $125+ above the price of a Pitbull and that's something I don't want to do since I wouldn't use those features anyways... I don't need the ability to power a lathe or break in motors, I never charge above 6 amps, I would never charge in flex mode, and I would use my GFX for discharging all of my packs anyways... so basically all I will be using the new charger for is charging so I don't have to constantly worry about having a pack done before the next heat if i'm running 2+ classes in one day. For my purposes, the Pitbull is the #1 choice since I will not be using it as a primary charger and thus do not need all the extra features available on the Turbo35 BL or Pulsar.

If I wanted to I could buy a used Turbo35 BL, but since I will only be using the new charger strictly for charging and nothing else, the Pitbull more than meets my needs, a BL would be nice, but i'd never use all the extra features since i've got a GFX, so I would rather buy a new Pitbull and save more than 125 bucks .
