Thanks Forty6! I just ordered a large 5.4mm wide tip for my Hakko soldering iron, this should definetly solve all my problems .

Only problem is I have a state race this weekend which is 3 days long and i'll have to go without the tip until next week since I did ground shipping .

Accord, there is an electrical supply shop off of Okeechobee Blvd. that carries a full line of Hakko accesories. I have the wide tip for mine, and if you want I will bring it with me this weekend and you can solder then up in the morning before the race on saturday. The address for the shop is Atlantic Electronics Inc. 1727 Donna Road, West Palm Beach. And their phone number is (561) 686-8553.

Caddzilla, thanks for thinking of me but I actually got them soldered up myself with the current tip... it was just a real pain in the ass. I'll definetly stop by that store tomorrow on my way to the track.

Are you pitting inside or outside?

Not a problem.

I am pitting outside, didn't want to spend the extra money on the inside pit spots. I can use that money for new tires and a motor. I can't make it to the track for practice tomorrow but I will see you on saturday.

I decided to pit outside also, I know that Tim and most of the other MDI guys are pitting outside aswell. Too bad the air conditioned tent won't be setup, lol.

Its not that it is snowing, but that their are only 20 indoor pit spots and their are about 40 to 50 people that race in the state series. And their was no fair way to give those pit spots away, so they decided to charge a fee for an indoor spot.

Default $100 pit spaces

I could see $100 pit spaces or 50 racers waiting for the doors to open, them a mad stampeed to grab a pit spot.

Was a funny thought.
