Default What Classes Are Running at Your Track??

I was just wondering because.....I started running a new program and would like to get a better idea of what is getting ran at other tracks and the average turnout for those classes. Right now I set up two electric classes (sedan) stock and super stock and applied the Roar std for those classes.......

thanks...................

Cool Classes...

Sportsman (roughly a stock class with a slow breakout time). Usually 1 main.
Super Stock (10.5/19T). Usually 2 mains.

at our "LOCAL" club races we run pretty much what ever guys show up with on that particular day.

Some days we get 7-8 1/18th scale, some days it's all TC's.

The TC's I usually have 2 classes.

I call one BRUSHLESS and the other STOCK...but the racers are put into class based on me knowing HOW they run. If they have the SKILLS they go in the socalled BRUSHLESS class (which we run as a 13.5 or Super Stock Class)

The slower class we run 27t Stock, 17.5 B/L and I'll let guys who may show up with a hotter motor, but lower skills...run w/ this group too, until they get upto speed. It's been working pretty decent, and a few of the guys will run BOTH classes. We usually have 5-8 guys in each, some days more...

We also mix OVAL racing on our club days, and that draws around 16-20 entries too.

The key is we try to keep the racing and program as FUN as possible.

Things are headed towards a return of the SWT Series, but for
2017 the focus will be on the Encino Velodrome (and dirt oval racing)

TransAm is bigger than 10.5 at the Friday Night Races At the last one I had 11 Trans-Am cars and 9 SuperStock cars.

As far as turnout per class goes...The way I look at it....as long as there are 2 people wanting to run a class...I'll let them run. There is no reason to turn down racers who just want to come out and race. Usually we end up taking a 15-30 minute break in between rounds anyways (to charge batteries, fix cars, and to turn on the lights at some point)....so it's not like the extra class slows down the program at all.

Just my two cents...

I forgot about trans am on fridays

I think the first friday race we did we DID have more 10.5 (at least enough to put me in the "B") and 13.5 runners though.

Anyways, 10.5, vintage, and 13.5 are main classes in colorado (correct me if i am wrong tyler. )

It's been about even...we just run more USVTA cars on the track at once since you 10.5 guys cant seem to get around the first corner in the mains if there are more than 7 of you on the track at once

But 13.5 seems to be a dying class....everyone seems to be going to either Super Stock or TransAm

Dont forget...Nitro is actually a pretty big class around here in the Denver area ....unfortunately...

I know, with westy and corrc. If some nitro guys just get a taste of lipo and brushless, i think they may be sold.

Not to hijack this thread, but how many tracks run "super touring" (i.e. mod and foam tires)?

that class just seems awesome.

Hard to run nitro when you can't buy gas. :-)

Too many classes is the bane of R/C racing. Keep it sweet and simple.

stock touring, 19turn 1/10 pancar and 1/10 nitro

we got rid of 19turn touring in favor of f-ing pancars

but yeah

usually 4 mains of stock, 1 of nitro, and 3 of pancar (roughly 8 racers per main w/ double bumps)
