Go with an Axiom C2 based 19t.

I`m after a ball park 19T gear ratio for my TC3.

I`m going from a Tamiya Sport Tuned (Black Can) to 19T so i would like a starting point to fine tune from.

Cheers

Well what motor will you be running? The reedy quad mag you can run at ratio's as low as 5.2 depending on the track, a chameleon 2 perhaps geared much closer to 6.0, a Peak Dynasty in between.

it`s just a VERY cheap Venom "Fireball" 19T double..ATM , I was given it so i could have a run in 19T next meet to see if i like it.

I was thinking of around 6.0-6.5...??

Does anyone use/recommend "Nosram" motors..? My LHS is getting some in.

Cheers

Wich Nosram motors are they getting in?
As far as i know, the Nosram eXtreme modified is exactly the same as the Reedy Kr. Both LRP and Nosram use Reedy motors as a base for their motors.
I actually own two Nosram eXtreme motors, both 12x2, and from my experience i can't recomend them. They're just toast after 1 run if you are 1 tooth off perfect gearing.

That i couldn`t tell you ATM...one of our local club members is just starting up a RC shop as his 2nd business, mainly to help out local ppl.

So i`l just have to wait & see.

From your experience they (Nosram) sound like the Venom Fireball range. If you don`t get your gearing spot-on they go up in smoke.

Cheers

can anyone give me a good setup for a C2 with f-brushes, like what cuts or holes and what springs to run, for a foam sedan?

Of all my 19t motors. My Trinity Cham.2 is the fastest. Then my Integy Altas, my Trinity D5 19t , last but not least my Venom 19t (p.o.s.)
Strange my D5 is not the fastest even though it's handwound and all that. Out the box it was a pig, but then I put the P94 brushes and it made it a lil' betta. The Cham is a rocket with green-/red+ springs, trinity angled serr. brushes.
I love the dyno feature on my APS charger!

SPC,

Run Full-face F's with Either Purple (+), Red (-), or Red/Red with the positive spring bent to give a little more tension. This setup has worked great for me.

different 19t like different gearing. I would be surprised if the d5 19t at 36 degrees and proper gearing was a pig. Has this motor been overheated?
Brushhoods aligned? inspected for abnormalities?

Default How much brake

Ran at IRP last night at the Hurricane cup only time ran 19t and learned a lot, one question I have is how much brake does everyone dial into the speed control? I have a 3PK radio and added brake quickly using it and it seemed to help. I have a GT-7 speedo and what program do others use?

I have it set up for Oval for running TC stock and 19t.

Thanks....
