It takes a long time to learn, but the right equipment to get it right. I have a Weller WESD51 with a digital tip temperature readout, it definately helps to make hot solder joints... Use the least amount of solder that you can, and you will get a joint with the lowest resistance possible.

i am not into electric but I learned to solder with one of those motion detector kits that came with the soldering iron solder and all the stuff needed to get the job done. not the best equipment but it gets the job done...and after learning on the inexpensive circuit board you have a working motion detector...nothing better than that.
