my bad im a newbie, wat is a spool? wats a diff?

Spool is a locked drive axle, diff = differential. A lot of these Q's can be answered in the Rookie forum..

Yep, rather than a differential bieng able to give different power to each tire.

I don't recommend driving with a spool if you're a newbie... you'll just get discouraged....

start off driving fulltime 4wd with diffs front and rear..
after you've learned to drive really well and gotten out of Novice class... next step is the one-way diff.... with this you'll get excellent cornering speed....

That's a good suggestion RC-Zombies. Other words, he means, you will break more parts with a spool than you what you would with a differential.
