Hello Everyone,
Has anyone done any testing regarding target rollouts with the silver can performance? Life verses speed? Or best motor performance? I see Robk’s gearing at 93 with 26-28 is that it? What are you guys running?

If you are replacing it every few weeks then you should look at where the friction damper mounts as the screws holes are most likely cracked also, allowing the friction damper to get loose.
Get a 3racing gear box as J.D.Roost said if you are not running TCS. They are a bit heavy but they last forever.
If you are racing TCS get the non height adjustable gear box from Tamiya and run that untill you stop crashing. You can still use the right side alloy motor mount that you have now,and just replace the left side of you gear box with the non adjustable piece.

I just recentely picked up an F103 off e-bay a few weeks ago on the cheap!...esc included... this thing was sitting on this guy's shelf since the 103 was created...the rear wouldn't turn (diff grease turned to paste), it looked like his kid got to it with kiddie paint and the foam tires were as hard as rocks! so I took it home, cleaned it up and raced it that weekend...Wow i'm impressed with thing, the cornering even with the dry and cracked tires is on the money with no glue on the sidewalls nessasary, even when the grip comes up.
I'll post some pic's of it tomorrow when i'm @ the track...before the "scrapin" begins.

Just imagine what it'll do with fresh tires and clean parts.

He's fast enough..don't help him.
For real though, that car literally went from ebay to the track and was dialed.
My one r/c wish for this year would be that Tamiya does a "re-issue" on the 103.Don't try and fix what ain't broke.
Maybe if we keep threads like this alive it will happen.
