Premounts seem to be something like the combo I suggested above, but different.

DRAG ON DUDE,

If you want the softest (rears only, run the medium up front!) tires I'd go with the numbers in the quote above by downtempo.

That is by far the best combination for asphalt with less than perfect traction.

This car has too much steering and needs the softest rear and the firmest fronts available when running on the tricky surfaces and these numbers are the best match we have found.

And if you "sauce" the tires (traction additive), try saucing only the rears.
Then if you need a little more steering, sauce the fronts a little, start with the inside of the front tires 1/4 to 1/2 of the width.
The alternative are the "premounts" which are pricey and are just about the same combination but DIALED.

Thanks FN CUDA -- Yes i do run in asphalt with medium grip.......... using the tires given out of the box is superb i achieve balance stability in handling. During the race my front tire and rear tire already worn therefore i have to replace. I forgot what tire parts number i used but i remember it say medium front (after i replace the old tire and i squeze the new tire it's seems the tires is twice harder than the original tire out of the box) same thing with the rear tires i also forgot the parts number but it say soft rear tires (after i install same thing it feel harder than the original tires out of the box)........... i will follow your advice to buy this combo:

84096 and 84097 are the mediums
84095 and 84094 are the softs

anyway thanks for everyone fast response, advice and feedback, regards Drag_on

Could any of you post some setups? I will have the car on-track for the first time this Wednesday. The surface is medium grip asphalt.

Thanks for any tips.

Thanks Drag On.
What about ride height? Also, do you run the tires full-size?

Thanks again,
Steve

yes i do run the tire full size ............ i never check my ride height, i do check 1 time when the front tire diameter is getting smaller, i check and it's around 3.0 mm. With the rear i used the bearing shaft holder in zero positions.

are you guys getting 5 minutes with a 21.5 with a lipo that is around a 2400?

I am not even really sure who or where else is using brushless in the f1's, I am pretty new to this chassis and even have only been in about a year and a half in the hobby in general. I also run an Associated 10r5 in WGT and am starting to get the grasp of it more and more, like tonight in practice I ran 3-4 tenths faster than I normally do at my local. So I am wondering if there is anything I can implement from that car to the F1, and how they work differently?

Here is my setup I ams still waiting to get the shck upgrade this week and I plan on as of now running a three hole piston.

RC HP F103

Sp v2.0gt currently running the newest software 312 I think

Trinity P-SPEC 21.5

Looking for the lighttest lipo that will run five minutes or so..

Stock gearing

Stock Tires= does anyone know the box stock rollout?

Thanks for you help in advance

Chris

The average trans am car (21.5, 4wd, 1450g min. weight) uses anywhere from 800-1200 mah per 5 minute race. I'm sure that 2400 will last 5 minutes with a 2wd car that weighs just about nothing.

We have several drivers running 21.5 in So Cal.

2400 will run a 21.5 in an F103 for 5 min no problem. Stock gearing is very short, so I would think you would take out about half of the 2400 in a 10 minute run. Your results may vary depending upon your track layout (big/small/tight/oval/carpet/asphalt etc.).

Don't know about your other questions.
