The Chevron body has more detail than the TRG bodies and the side pods are thought out better than the TRG body.
D-Drive Sports has both color wing body sets in stock

The car in the center of the page is the Chevron body painted up.

Anyone tried to compare the F103gt and F103rm front suspension and front knuckles?

No comparison. The RM is a fixed arm with not pivot. The gt has a top pivoting arm.

I personally like the TRG mp4-7 body paired with their front low nose wing. I had to trim off the vanes, but it looks great. Pics to follow.

If anyone has seen Vyger's its the same body.

Does anyone have any references as to where I can find some detailed pics of painted F1 bodies? I've been through this thread but just havent seen an abundance of pics to show off the other types of bodies?

thanx!

Bro... Tried both on the my old F103... Not much of a difference.

I'll stick to the fixed one on carpet thought. If you want I can lend you the pivot arm to test.

What's the deal with these. Now they're all showing discontinued. This is insane. How in the hell can you start a class when everyone who wants cars can't even get their hands on one.

Welcome to the world of Tamiya. I seriously dont understand them sometimes. I love the brand, been running these cars for years, but im seriously baffled as to why they do this. Especially the F103. I doubt there is a cheaper to manufacture chassis on the planet. No excuses to discontinuing these. People are still pumped about racing them in some places, and sales would continue. I can understand dropping a chassis like the F201, but... this just makes no sense.

I remember a good friend of mine, who won a trip to the TCS worlds in Japan, actually asked a Tamiya Exec, why did you discontinue the F103 when its so popular around the world. The Exec when from being all friendly to being insulted..... nice way to listen to your intended buyers. I still love the brand but damn this makes me angry.... release a 15 anniversary one for top dollar, then drop the F103, why am i not surprised.....

sheesh, its not that bad
all they've done is dropped all the random kits with slightly different configurations and provided a more focussed range..
thats actually making it easier for the buyers and tightening up the chassis choice for TCS style racing etc

take a look at the Tamiya range... most chassis types have 2 basic kits, one that includes most items required (body, tyres, motor and/or ESC etc) and one that is focussed towards those who race (requires all electronics, body, wheels and tyres etc)

what do we have now with F1s ??

the basic F103RM kit with body, wings and tyres etc
and the F103R sold as chassis only

I've been mis-informed. I still can't get my hands on the parts bags though. Maybe new numbers from the R kit?

there are a number of R specific parts, none of which are available as replacement items yet to my knowledge... but i have read rumours that some of them should be available at the end of this month
also, some of the R parts like the etched servo mounts or logo stamped upper and lower decks wont be available as spares, only in the kit.

I have seen most of the F103's still for sale. I just bought a F103GT Advan Courage today.

I just built my F103GT Advan Courage. I have a few questions.

1. Is the kit supposed to come with a foam bumper?

2. How do I mount the Courage body? The rear body post setup is so weird. What posts do I use for the front?

Pictures would be great.
