I just got my RM going a couple weeks ago and have gotten a couple practice runs in and the car is pretty good for the most part but I'm have trouble with a front end push off power and the car wandering at times. I think some turnbuckles and a different servo save will fix most of the wandering but I can't figure out the push.

So basically its a stock setup with the following changes.

F103GT TRF shock.. stock white spring... I think its a yellow dot.
Gold springs in the front
O-ring setup - I think its squished down pretty good but not sure how to measure that.
Stock silver springs on the damper pads.. fairly tight.
I've got the long top deck but not installed yet. Will that help?

It turns great on power but I just can't get it to turn off power. I normally have been gooping 1/3 to 1/2 on the front tires. I went to 3/4+ once and it traction rolled to start then wore off and I was back to the push. Any suggestions?

Thanks

The top deck will help for sure. You could also try the carbon lower deck.

You could probably go for a cheap ESC to start with, that will take all the way to low mods.

If you want to go Brushless in the future, then go get Brushless ESC that can run brushed motors that you currently have.

The mabuchi would be a good motor to start with, then you can upgrade to the 23T if you can control the car and want more speed.

As for batts, get yourself 2 pack of Li-Pos... That would be sufficient.

Has anybody seen a tuning guide for these things, or for pan cars (probably quite appropiate)

Check Vyger's posts. I know he's put together a starting point setup that he uses. He has set up a few of these things. Robk's car is extremely dialed in also and has many great suggestions.

Hi guys, very helpful thread.

I have a second hand f103 with the Hakkinen shell and a bunch of hop ups that I have slowly figured out.

Trouble is, it has the height adjustable case and all, but no inserts/adjusters other than the ones in there.

Can someone help identify a part or spare part number I need to get a set of the adjusters, or even aftermarket ones?

Thanks

by adjusters, do you mean the adjuster for the motor mount casing or the adjusters for the rear shaft?

Hi guys,

managed to finish my new bodyshell I plan to use for our local club races. It's a Tamiya F-103RM (L-Type body) chassis with a few additional hopups. Body is a TRG SW F-1 and the car rolls on Zen F-1 foam tires with the wheels I painted chrome.

I painted the body in a sort of fictional scheme i call "Semi-Brabham". Decals are a combination of protoform Alfa Romeo script decals and the sponsor labels and stripes from an unused Tamiya Martini Alfa Romeo DTM bodyset. I plan to stick possibly Tamiya or more Alfa Romeo script decals on the big white area on the airbox.

i decided not to paint the driver area as i know this body will get bashed up a bit in the club races and i wanted to save weight by omitting some driver details

hope you guys like it. enjoy!
