Ok, all you open wheel guys check the racing forum here on rctech for a short info page on the 3rd annual F1 Builders Cup. Also info on this years Alpha cup race in Illinois this April will be coming soon for F1 drivers. The 5th annual F1 AllStar Tour will start in Illinois then move into TN then GA for it's series.

Lot's of nice F1's here. Time to race!

Thanks Apex!

The #54801 listed is the 103R top deck? So for asphalt, I would be better off without it? i.e. the RM in this config is actually better off than the 103R on asphalt?

sorry for the newbie questions! thanks!

53150 - RC F1 Turnbuckle > (stronger steering rods)
50473 - High Torque Servo Saver > (stronger, quicker more reliable steering)
53901 - RC TRF Special Damper (Center Shock Kit) > (more tuneable than stock shock)
53902 - RC F103GT Aluminum Motor Mount > (for heat dissipation)
54127 - RC F103 Rear Carbon Axle > (less rolling resistance)

For carpet:
54801 - RC F103 Carbon Upper Deck - (Long) > (makes chassis nice and stiff for carpet)

Also, I thought the diff that comes with the RM is alloy?

Does anyone know the part numbers for the tires that come stock in kit with the F103RM 15th Anniversary Edition?

Hey Rob...... BTW, Nice Trans-Am win for the series, we had fun, didn't we!

I am refering to the iron clad (cough) rules on Tamiya's website:

19. The use of thin shims (available at most hobby stores and now made available by Tamiya) to space out the slop or play in suspension arms, steering bell-cranks and wheel axles is permitted in all vehicles except in the spec class. Shimming the aforementioned components of the car in a way that alters the geometry of the car or its basic geometry design is not legal.
20.The use of O-Rings on shock ball ends and camber/steering links is allowed.
21. Enlarging or creating extra vent holes in wheels is not permitted.
22. In the spirit of keeping TCS Racing unique in appearance to the public, the Subaru Legacy B4 body (items 53727, 49374 & 53824) is not legal for all GT classes.

23. Any modification not called out specifically in these rules is not legal.
24. If a driver finds a loophole within the rules, the exploitation will be deemed illegal at the discretion of the race director.

This is my 12th year of competition with the F-103 based chassis. Been there and watched folks try that stuff in the past, it wasn't pretty...lol

also: Rob, Are you going to Aliso for the regional in Feb?

Gee's Randy, I was going to ask you since you have a 15th and that I can only presume came with an Owners Manual with all the p/n's listed. Did you look there yet?

If you find them, could you pm me?

BTW, How do you like the 310B body set?

To all other F-1 heads out there, I still have several Vintage F102/ F103 NIB body sets available. Why run the same old T, M, or L body as everyone else. Dare to be different and win that concourse with an F-1 CLASSIC. Please PM me for a listing......

Your Alpha race is the 1st weekend in April? Unfortunately, that's the USVTA Nationals...

That is odd, those numbers are not pre-mounted tires and wheels.

Probably since flex helps create traction on low bite surfaces. You could probably get away with the long top deck on very high grip asphalt.

it doesnt have the usual replacement and hop-up parts lists

Anybody have a problem with the plastic bits of the motor cage splitting/cracking from the hex head screws? I donít normally have a problem over-tightening things but found some hairline cracks on both uprights that the aluminum motor mount and the end bell plate screw into. I double checked that I was using the proper screw length. Perhaps it is the run of plastic parts were too brittle or??

BTW it is a 15th aniv kit.
