Just follow what Subaru73 said. Except don't worry too much about telling them how you want it shipped. Just make sure you include your mailing address in the original email, and let them take care of the rest. EMS shipping is all you need, trust me.

I know what your thinking...'not worth the trouble to order from a site in all japanese'. But trust me, you'll never find better customer service, professionalism and SPEED IN SHIPPING than rcchamp.

If you own Tamiya stuff, you need to get familiar with rcchamp ASAP.

Do they send you back an email and tell you the price of what you want and what the shipping charges are? It seems that it would be a boost to their business to have an english site as well. Hard to window shop.

That's how they keep the prices so good. No online shop...means lower overhead (less workers etc). Just email them your name and address and the part #s you want. They then send you an email with the total and you send money via Paypal....then wait 3 days and it's in your hand!

I bet I've ordered from them 30 times...and never once have had a problem.

The thing is, theres usually no window shopping. We know what Tamiya part number we're after, so we go to the page with Tamiya hopup/parts and look up the price ourselves. Or, if we're certain we want it, then we just send them the email with the part numbers and they'll tell you the price in the return email.

If your really looking to window shop, search for "Babel Fish" on yahoo. Its a text translator that gets the job done. Then just copy/paste the Japanese text into one part, click translate, and you'll get a pretty good translation.

But really, until you try ordering from them, it's hard to explain just how easy it is. It really is easy and fast. And before the dollar went into the toilet, the parts from rcchamp were usually about half the cost of what they are over here. And that included shipping! Its not as good right now, but its still good.

For example: A TA05 IFS-R over here in the states was like $240 before shipping. I got mine from rcchamp for about $235 shipped with the screw kit, battery strap and graphite rear shock tower. And I got it in 3 days from Japan with EMS shipping. And I would have had to drop and extra $20 in shipping to get ANY shop here in the states to get it to me in that time.

Hey guys- Just finished building my F103R kit. I've never owned a Tamiya before so bare with me on these questions.....

It says no where on the bottle.....What weight shock oil comes standard in the Kit? What is the spring rating of the White spring? What is the standard piston that comes with the Kit? And does anybody know how I can achieve a spring rating chart for Tamiya Springs? Thanks in advance.....

I believe the pistion is a 3 hole....you'll only ever use a 2 or 3 hole. No hole size listings, just hole count. The spring is Tamiya red. You'll see a small red dot on one end of the spring. Tamiya has been making all white springs with the tiny dot of color to tell you the actual spring rating color for a while (keep your competition guessing). The order of the regualr length springs like the ones that come with the R are...Red-soft...yellow-medium...blue-firm...white-hard. And I believe the kit oil is 30ish wt. I used the kit oil for my kit.

I ran my f103 anniv kit for the first time today and what a fun car to drive, here is my set up if anybody wants to try it

Front
black springs
a thin film of hard dampner grease on the king pins

rear

shock 25 wt oil 3 hole piston 1mm down lower spring mount kit red spring
hard dampner grease on the pads
adjusting nut screwed down 5.5 mm
no preload on the spring
was on carpet.

tried with kit tires and tamiya medium foam tires both worked great.Used jack the gripper compound full rear 1/4 on the front, let soak in then wipe off.Car was very easy to drive with no problems.Just thought I would share my set up with all.All other settings per the manual

I like the short springs for mini cars better. The regular length has too much preload, even with the adjuster all the way out..
