I've run them and I like them. I don't have enough time on them to make a proper evaluation, but my initial impression was favorable. I got the medium fronts, and had tons of steering (almost too much) on our cleaned, treated asphalt track. When it's time to replace them I will try the harder fronts.

Great stuff, thanks for the info. Our track is untreated so I'll pick up some medium fronts to give me some bite

I would get a set of hard fronts as well while you're at it. I race the 103 on untreated asphalt, and occasionally when the track is a bit dusty, I run the hard fronts with more dual-rate till the dust blows away.

Expect pretty good wear with the TRG rubber tyres. I have run the rears for about 3 meets (15 races) with a bit of practice here and there, and the rears are holding up fine. Just remember to swap left and right tyres (yes, both front and rears) every 2 races or so to keep the wear even as the TRGs are pretty soft.

For anyone who's interested, the last batch of Red Dot silver can motors to be produced for 2008 is shipping this week. I've received a lot of inquiries over the past couple of weeks, so if you want one (they also make a nifty holiday present!) it would be best to speak up NOW before they are gone. In fact, the smart guys have prepaid - you might want to do the same to ensure you get one before next year.

Despite the financial meltdown and the drop of the dollar against virtually every other currency in the world, motors still cost only $45 each plus shipping ($8 within the USA for one or two motors, $10 for three or more; international shipping is quoted on request). I prefer PayPal, and my PayPal id is [email protected] as my e-mail addy.

Thanks!
Doc

Just that in every business I've ever worked at or been involved with an employee abusing his discount for non-personal purchases is a big no-no. If you were to decide to make a few bucks for your trouble as Dan suggested that seriously compounds the problem. If the manufacturer or distributor were to find out that this was going on your employer runs the risk of losing that product line.

I'm saying all that as a small business owner, so obviously my perspective is biased. When I was a retail employee back in my youth I'm sure I hooked my buddies up with a deal from time to time, but I sure as hell didn't go offering it publicly or broadcasting it on the Internet.

Yea that's a slippery slope. Usually from the employer's perspective they frown on such things because they're losing their cut of the sale that they would get normally if the employee wasn't hooking up his friends with his discount, and it usually doesn't help if the employee is also making a profit from the sale either. It reminds me of a situation when I worked in an auto shop where one of the mechanics was telling the customers to come to his house Sunday morning instead....basically stealing the profits from the shop. I'm not saying you're stealing anything but I'm not sure how you're employer would view it.

Basically I'd just keep this stuff to PMs, especially if there is any way of your employer reading this.

BTW I'll take two! j/k

I'm with ya bud; my comment was an attempt at humor (that went a little askew). I had not intention to following that trail.

That was obvious -- I was just surprised by his reply. However, times are tough and I wouldn't fault you for trying to score a deal!
