An Esc you can drive underwater.... Not that your reciever would survive..... That LRP reciever in the picture looks cool, does anyone have info on that. (I know this is almost completely off-topic)

Moisture is not good for FET's and microprocessors.

That's why I'm guessing to be able to be driven underwater, it's waterproof...

So you can actually buy the new in-line Schottky diode separately?

Randy,
I've been using the GT7 since they came out. I love them. I run one in the XXXS and the truck too. I like profile 4 if I run stock. I'll put it to 5 at So Cal running stock. I usually run it on profile 2 in mod if there's good traction. If not I'll set it to 1. 19 turn I run either 2 or 3. I put it to 7 on the "wet" day at Reedy and it really mellowed out the wheel spin from the damp ground. That was exciting

Coolrcdad, yes they do sell it seperately. they sell one that's just the diodes by themselves in a little block that's got a heat shrink cover or this way which is a new full harness that you just un solder the old one from the esc and re-solder the new one directly to the esc pcb.

here's a write up in rczone on the Nosram Dominator "Evolution" ESC. reason i quote this is its possible the Quantum 2 will most likely be a re-bagged Nosram (or the other way around?) Dominator Evo. This is how they describe Reactive Frequency Control .....

".... the Dominator Evolution "knows" - calculated from many different parameters, at which situation the car currently is in, ie. at full throttle position, the Dominator Evolution "knows" if the car is on the straight - high frequency for higher top speed and best efficiency is needed, or if the car is accelerating out of the corner - low frequency for best possible punch is needed, and is constantly adapting to this."

rczone says the expected release date is Aug-Sept this year at a price of around 190 Euro's.

that being said, i love the GT7! HAHAHA

Well if the Q2 is really a lot better than the GT7 when it's released, I'll make the switch, but for now, I think the GT7 is on top...

If you look on RC Car Action's web site, the variable frequency idea is explained well. They have a news-picture of the QC2 and with it an explaination. Just as you said, the frequency changes depending on whether the car is accelerating out of a corner, or flying down a straight away.

I've been to Fantasy...but last time I was there was in early '90
and I used to race pac cars with the SARCAR group back then too.
