I bought a sx9 from my hobby shop.....who sponsors me....for $70, he got a deall on them since they are now discontinued. It had been shutting off on me during a race and getting stuck at half throttle.
So...I was at the Norcar Halloween Classic. The guy from Horizon was there and he gave me an SX12 to replace it. Mine is the one with the heatsink. Best speedo I have ever owned....VERY punchy
and the resistance is half of what I have ever seen before
.00025!!!!!!

I think the sx9 shutting down is a heat thing.
What settings did you run on the sx12, did you run the std settings or change much??

It is a heat thing with the sx9.....124* F shutoff temperature......kinda stupid
I didnt change anything on the SX12, I couldnt figure it out......asked the Horizon Rep and he said nobody can really do it. He has been on the phone with GM several times and they are of no help.
Here's a pic of my Speedmerchant with it installed

LOL, they aren't the easiest things in the world to change settings on!!
I used V12's years ago and they were just the same. I did manage to change the torque limit on my old sx9!! Was thinking of turning the torque down on the SX12 just to try and help it so it doesn't get too hot. I am planning on running it in my touring car this week, then it will probably go in my Corally 12th car as it is nice and small.
