Yes. I use my Trakpower balancer on his Orion 3200 and 4800 packs with no problems. I use the same leads as you posted.

I use that exact lead in conjunction with my Blinky Balancer on my 4800's and 3200's and it works great.

I just ordered the trackpower balancer and it looked like those leads come with it. I was thinking of trying an Orion 3600 and hoped that the leads would work. Are those posted different then the ones it comes with??

That's the one that came with my TrakPower V-Balance.

Works nice and will do a balance without a charger connected.

Sweet thanks Fred. Of course the fine print says trackpower packs only...but what do they know right?

Straight from Tower...

SPECS: Input Battery Voltage: 6V to 30V
Charger Input Voltage: 55V
Max number of cells: 2 to 6 cells Lithium Polymer
Max. through current: 10A max
Voltage resolution: ±5mV
Casing: Injection molding with built in ventilation. Maximum 135°C.
Over-charge protection voltage: 4.21V ±0.010V
Over-Discharge protection voltage: 3.00V ±0.010V
Dimensions: 3.46 x 1.96 x .62 in (88 x 50 x 16mm)

COMMENTS: This Balancer only works with the TrakPower batteries because
of the connectors and wiring.

CANNOT BE USED WITH LiPo PACKS NOT WIRED FOR BALANCING.

Now I could use some help,
how to hook up the TrakPower balancer to my MaxAmps 4400 saddle pack.

I got a chance to try the Trackpower balancer on the Orion 3600 last night. The balancer balanced my Trackpower 4900's in less then 30 seconds each, and they had 20 or so runs on them. The Orion 3600 it took over 1/2 hour to balance and that pack had less then 10 runs. Wonder whats up with that??

You can check each cells voltage by using a voltmeter with 1 lead hooked to the balancer port and other to one of the connections on the battery (then switch to other connector to get other cells voltage). Of course one will read in negative, but it still should help give you something to read voltage wise Vern.

Anthony has a 610C that shows each cells voltage during charging.

Makes sence...thank you. I'll check them again after several more runs.

Anyone else finding the Orions get out of balance easily?

the guy at our track that had the Trak power balancer had to balance his trak power packs every run and when we put Ling's two year old Orion 4800 packs on there the balancing light never came on. The same thing for my brand new 4800's. Maybe they did something wierd to the 3600

Im not starting this up again.. But

He must have a bad run of cells or something... Because mine are never out of balance, I plug them into the V balancer every 5 or so months, and the balancer stays on for less then 5 mins..

Just MY experience tho......

He "had to" or "liked to"? I know several people with TrackPowers and none of them have balance issues. In fact I was told the balancer was a waste of money cuz they rarely go out of balance. So far, the Orion is the only one needing it. Strange.

I agree

none of the packs I have used (carbon 3200, platinum, and TrakPower) needed balancing like some people can say the other brand needs...
