Default Dual deck Pan cars/RWD TC's

hi all;

I'm building a 1/10 pan car/RWD touring car in school, but my teacher said I haveto make it original. so, are there any dual deck pan cars around? or what about ones that use chassis flex for suspension? or even mini chassis pan cars?

thanks,
Joe

Years ago - early '90's - Wood Racing had a 1/10 pan car that had a double deck - for stiffness - awesome car - I wish I remember what I did with it now that 10th scale is coming back. I was sponsored by them, we used an Associated front end - also tried their own design aluminum front end. I remember it as one of the best cars I ever had.

As for flexible chassis - I'll date myself even more - back in the '80's when Lake Whipporwill was the best known oval track there was a company there that made an oval chassis designed on flexing - it used an associated front end and basically looked like a rectangle with the middle cut out. PR-7 is that name that sticks in my head.

I think it depends what you mean by dual deck. The cars that come to my mind are the Yokomo YRX10 and the Ascari Pan car (can't remember the name apart from Ascari)

What do you mean by "my teacher said I have to make it original" ?

Does that mean original in design, and/or using all original parts - or are you copying something (or using parts) that already exists?

You still have school in the UK?? Anyway, making a pan car is big business. You might want to buy a used one off of Ebay so you have the dimensions and design ideas. There are T-Bar and L-Plate cars and there is a 1/18th T-Bar car too.

original design, something that hasn't been tried before using sompletely original parts (with the exception of things like gears, electronics and tyres)

Within the rules there isn't much that hasn't allready been tried before in pan car. New parts can be made to do the same thing but it's still just doing the same thing.

It took you 8 days to check back in on your thread?

That doesn't show much initiative or interest on acquiring input on your project, or passing the class.

for your information, school is a little more demanding than you think, and I forgot until the next lesson.

plus, I hate mixing school work with home life :P
