Integy chargers
i'm considering the new Integy 16x5 programable charger, it comes with a 20a discharger, and a 14A power supply for around $230. anybody used or have one of these chargers, have any thoughts or comments you'd like to share about it?:sneaky:

:) The 16x5 is the best, had mine for about two months now with out a hitch. I have a Vis Commander and a IQ2 and both charge 3k's too hot. Also had a Millenium, and it only false peaked. And in Nm mode it only charges at 1 amp. Before I got my 16x5 I talked to Barry B who has two of them, he said that they were the best. I've known Barry since '87, racing in San Diego, and he's always in the know. :sneaky: Get the 16x5 and enjoy.:D

yea i am going to pick one up with out the power supply. I need to get a discharger again.

Check out www.speedtechrc.com Steve is the man behind the website~. He sells Integy stuff at the best price you can find. I bought from him and he always give the best prices~ Just from experience. This hobby is expensive enough, so why pay more??
(it really sounds like i'm advertising for Steve, but nah, just telling from experience.) |

thanks guys!
thanks everyone, i thought i stumbled on something with the 16x5, where i race nobody seems to know anything about it, definatly cool with the power supply, discharger all it one.
TRF, Taz, you guys are right, speedtech has the thing $20 cheaper than Integy! Mopar, what mopar vehical you drive? i'm wanting a Dakota QuadCab sooooo bad!!!!!! :sneaky: |
I have just bought my second X5. I had a Millenium and a GM Commander, but the X5 is the only charger that I've been able to charge my NiMH transmitter pack without faulse peaking. The ONLY thing that I would chage (or add) is I wish the NiMH and NiCAD modes remembered seperate settings (so when I run NiCads in practice, I don't have to go and change all of the settings. Other than that, it's the best charger on the market for the price.

Do you guys notice that with the discharge modes, after discharging using say 20A or even 0.1A, after the discharge the battery still has quite a bit of charge left?
If I discharge what's left of my 3k nimhs @ 20A, I can still use my tamiya stick pack discharger and it's still lighted! I was hoping it alone would be able to suck all the charge out of the pack :p Regards, Alvin |
I love my 16X2, I want to get a 16X5, not sure yet though.
|
Like most dischargers, I believe it only discharges to .9v a cell (or 5.4v for the pack). Thats what almost all cells are discharged to when they are matched and Indy used the same cutoff so you could check the cells.
|
what discharge reading do you get with the 16x5.
|
Amps are adjustable to 20A, you get time, mAH and voltage
|
do you get a ave reading so you can see your best pack are.
|
Ave volts and final volts
