Honestly i change the fluid in my shocks every few weeks if they feel dirty but otherwise leave them alone. Maybe ive just done it enough to be comfortable with it. Only annoying thing is popping the side shock out i find.
My friend has a crc and i was surprised how hard a fluid i had to put in there to get similar damping.
I run both my cars with 50wt side oil and 30wt center. Seems to work pretty well on our track.

I'm running 40wt in the center and 30wt on the side shock.

I've got my car built, now i have to go find a place to race. I live in Pittsburgh. There are a lot of off road tracks but I can't find any on road. I'll have to go on line and track one down.

What is better running the tc5 shock over the stock?
I am running the same 10.5 motor with 2 cell shorty 4200.
I am running the stock setup.

I have had great success with 30wt and the blue spring on a bumpy indorr carpet track. However, I'm only using a 1S pack so it is lighter.
If you want to try another shock you may want to try the HPI 1/12 shock. It isn't that easy to fit and you need to replace the hardware but it builds easier than the AE.

its VERY easy to build the stock shock properly. just remember to burp the oring just like you would do with a diaphram on a tc style shock.
just change the orings every now and then to prevent them from leaking..
was running 30wt side/center this week with gold center blue sides, .20 fronts. had a hard time holding onto corner speed with wgt spec tires.. car responded well but was very very slippery lol.
to contrast, my 12th scale running crc greylow/black tires, 50wt side 30wt center, all gold springs and all the same shimming/caster, camber, toe as the wgt was carving straight away from the first heat.
so not sure if i need to stiffen up the wgt car, or lighten it up, very easy to kick the rear end out, even on the straight ha.

At the bottom of our avatar it says trader rating. What does that mean?

Anybody heard a release date for the new car? Looks like the old car has been removed from most distributors. Heard from a guy who heard from a college mascot who heard from former child star who heard from a team guy that's it's supposed to be released soon.
