It depends on who manufactures them and what car they are for. For standard pinions and spurs, there is quite a range from Xenon, Yokomo, Kimbrough, etc., etc., then you get the unusual stuff from XRay (depending on what car), Losi, etc.

For 48 pitch.

15-40 tooth pinions
65-96 tooth spurs

For 64 pitch
18-52 tooth pinions
64-130 tooth spurs

I think I actually have a 10 tooth 48 pitch pinion around here somewhere. An old left over from my offroad days. It didn't mesh very well.

PRS sells 64p from 15 to 65 tooth, I have an almost complete set. I'm ready for pretty much anything that way. They also have spurs in 64p from 76 to 134 tooth, but seem to be phasing anything over 110 out.

I am with you on the 110 and over. Even with 13.5motors, I am running 45+ pinions and that leaves very little room for spurs over 104. Rollouts are 3.20 ~ 4.00" for most of my oval races.

A fellow racer showed me his 64T, 64P pinion....freaking huge!

I think a few years ago 50T 64P was about the largest available without being custom. Now that 13.5, 17.5 and 21.5 oval is getting popular smaller spurs and larger pinions are needed.

Default Gears

Ok

I run 48 pitch at the moment in a TC5 I should be able to find say 70, 71 or 73 spur if I wish from somewhere I just need to keep looking for the right place that sells them?

In 64 pitch I should be able to do the same any spur gear within the range like a spur gear between 65 and 110 for example

And the best place to try?

Thanks for the help

In 48p RW spurs were the only ones I have seen listed that size. I have seen them listed from 69-80 in 1 tooth increments, however, I have no idea where to get them unless you ordered from overseas. Speedtech has some gears in smaller sizes, but I am not sure how well they will mount. I have tried some Robinson spurs that look close to them on my TC5, but I don't especially like the two screw mounting that you have to use. I much prefer the 3 screws, but that may just be me.

In 64p, I think 76 tooth is as small as you can go in spurs, which is probably smaller than you need. I like PRS gears, and you can get the pro-lite gears from 76-110 tooth from several places, like Lefthander, Windtunnel, or Stormer. Just make sure you get the standard pro-lite model, if you get the pro-lite "oval" it will not work. Pro lite "touring" will, but they are phasing them out. HTH, good luck, Billy
