The Integy 16x3 pro v2.5. I have this charger, and it says that it can only charge up to a 3000 pack. But it works fine for my 3300's. It also has a built in power supply so you don't need a seperate one. You can buy them directly from www.integy.com . But I've heard of places where you can buy them much cheeper. It's a great charger, and I think you can find them for around 100 bucks.

Definately stay away from the time-based chargers ! Get a peak detection technology device, preferable one that are NiMh compatible.

This will both ensure way longer pack life, AND give you a faster car !

I also have th Integy 16x3 2.5 pro and like it for the nicd's.
The nimh packs ( both stick and side by side) sometime false peaks for some reason. I contacted Integy and they said and I quote the actual email:

Thank you for your e-mail inquiry. The 16X3v2.5 should be able to charge both Ni-Cd and Ni-MH packs. Certain 3000 Ni-MH
false peak easily and you might need to repeak them several times before they can be fully charged.

Best Regards,
Tech Support

Out of a total of 40 chargers on the nimh's I've had 4-5 false and only 1 was really bad.... ( 2 3000 PEAK brand - use for practice, never racing, 2 3000 Racer's edge I use these only in quals, 2 SMC 3300 so far no problems and 2 GP3300 and again no problems). I always re-peak right before a race....
I'm looking to pick up a second charger.....
I did have the super brain 959 and it false peaked so often I sold it on Ebay for 1/2 what I paid, Some people swear by it, maybe I just got a bad one...

do you plan to stay in the hobby or are you just testin the waters? if you plan to stay, then i suggest you dont fiddle around with cheapie chargers. i learned this from experience (the expensive way), i bought two chargers when i started, if you add their price it would be enough for me to buy a decent charger, i ended up selling both at nearly half the price, and when i sold them, they were less than 2 mos old mind you.

i then ended up getting pulsar, and if i compute allt he expenses i incurred before getting my pulsar, i realized that i could have had this charger a long time ago had i not tried buying cheap chargers.

the moral of the story, get a charger that will stay with you for a long time, if you can afford a GFX, then by all means get one now. but then again, as i said, are you just testing the waters, if you are, then just getthe cheap chargers, but if plan on getting serious with r/c, then get a good charger as early as now, you would also be saving on battery, as you would not be destrpying your bats quicker.

hope this helps

Yea, stay away from the 959, I hated mine so bad, I have used it probably 7 times, and now it just sits, been that way for the past 9 months. I've had a lot of cheapy chargers too, then I got my Millenium, just the origional, but my god it makes a difference! If I were you just go with the the more expensive charger, it will save you money in the long run.

You buy cheap, you buy twice. Get the best that you can afford, and you will be happy with it for a long time.

Yeah, my cheap chargers now is tool box weight, it holds down my tool box so it does not tip over .

It's true, buy what you can afford, but don't be to cheap about it........a good charger will make a difference.

Whatever you buy don't go near those dynamite chargers, I bought a vision peak when I started and it was a POS. I bought cheap and had to buy twice. I've got a 16x9 and am happy with it, but there are chargers out now that are just as good and have lower price tags.

Yeah, the pulsar is probably the best charger out there with under a 200 dollar price tag. You can get it for $165 at www.kthobbies.com . You will need a power supply for it though.

Yeah. The LRP Pulsar is great. My friend has one.

The Reedy Quasar Pro is another of my favorite chargers. It has AC/DC power.

I currently have the Millenium V1.20 (not pro) and its fantastic! Worth every penny IMO. Mine was brand new 65 shipped off of Ebay.

Ive had a quasar Non-pro version which I still have It is a nice charger. It is about $100 and it never false peaked. I also JUst traded my Indi 16x5v6 for a pulsar which should be coming next week. If you dont want to buy a power supply get a quasar or quasar pro. Also think about your choice and whether you'll actually need the features you're gonna get. I wasted my money on a 16x5v6 when all the features I needed were in the original 16x5. Just my 2 cents.
