A few questions, why no 13.5 Foam? looking at the latest IIC entries, 10.5 has almost no interest, most of us got 13.5's in preparation for the ROAR rules this year.

Will the track's choice class be a points and awards class or just a demo class for that race?

10.5 will be biggest class... Drivers like..Herrman,Chris Gaytz,"EA"(oh MY),Schreffler,Fairtrace,Johnson,Blackstock,Haynes ,Lessard,Josh H and many many more are not allowed in 17.5. If a driver was in a STOCK A main in past at Major event driver must run 10.5.. That will be a showcase class ......

1. We felt that if there were a 13.5 foam class, it would simply end up being another class for the "stock pros" to dominate again.

2. We also want to get guys racing together. Fewer classes with more racers is the goal, rather than multiple classes with just 5 or 6 entries each.

3. We decided on the 10.5 motor for the "pro" classes, because it's still fast enough to be interesting to the mod racers. At the Nationals in Omaha, 10.5 laptimes were just .2-.3 behind mod. The cars are still controllable with this motor, therefore it's also a good fit for the "stock pros" to compete with the mod guys.

4. Having just 17.5 and 10.5 will keep the racers competing with others of similar skill and resources.

5. There's a nice symmetry to the car and motor types. 3 pan car classes & 3 touring classes. Two 17.5 classes, two 13.5 classes, and two 10.5 classes.

6. The raceway choice class (Vintage T/A for the Halloween Classic) will be given cash awards and prizes at the event, but will not earn points or receive year-end series awards. This class will be determined by each host track. It might end up being Mini-Coopers, 1/18 scale, or perhaps an additional rubber tire class. It's completely up to the host facility. The reason for this class is that often there is a particular class that is very popular with each track's locals. These locals may not have the desire to compete at any of the other Grand Slam events, but we still wanted to give them a chance to join in on the fun.

As I stated in an earlier post, coming up with the rules and classes is a delicate balance. We didn't just arbitrarily leave out classes without careful thought and considering current trends and past turnouts. What's popular in one part of the country will differ from another. Should participation justify adding/removing classes for next year, then we will do that.

Hope to see everyone in October!
