I still think a major factor is driving skill. Last Sun I was out-lapping some of the brushless 10.5 racers and I was using a brushed stock motor with year old Nimh batteries. So its not all about the new technology though I may switch over before summer's end.

Not so fast, while Brushed NiMH in Stock, 27T and 17.5BL, 27T is still a little faster, but in just about all others classes, I'm pretty sure that Brushless is faster. As for LiPo/NiMH, LiPo cannot quite do the job in Stock when all the top guys are running. Rick Howart stated that a few modified guys are running LiPo with success.
