Ive gotten away with it for quite some time now but somebody said it might not be legal.
Ever since i stopped putting bearings in my stock motor they just werent fast enough so i went to the 23turn motor

Depends on the track you race at & who you run with. If they go by ROAR stock rules, then no, a 23 turn motor is NOT legal. But I do believe Japanese tracks use a 23 turn as their stock class, & there may be others here & there. Really, the best people to ask about this is the track owner where you run, & if he says run a 27 turn, then I'd suggest you do that.....

Where you always aware of the rules? Cause in your first post you stated "I've gotten away with it for quite sometime now but,"
If you know the rules just race by them, it's not fair for the next guy to be competing against you in the stock class with an inferior motor. I'm not sure if your club was very clear about the rules, so don't take it the wrong way.
If you want to be faster, step up to 19t spec or mod.

Bearings in your stock motor. If stock isn't fast enough for you go to mod, don't cheat in stock.

Believe I've heard some clubs actually do allow 27t rebuildables with bearings, as a means to reduce the maintenance cost. (Don't ask me which clubs, though.)
