Default Carpet Racers Forum

This is a place to come and discuss the trials and tribulations of carpet racing. Ive found thes type of threads ver useful- please read and enjoy. My situation a month ago: (taken from another BB's thread, the same one that I started there)

Hey, I just though I would start a carpet racers forum as we seem to be a minority. I'd like to find out peoples ideas for setups etc. depending on track layout and temperature, Tyres used etc. Personally I used to use a TL01 but now i will be using my new Xray T1. I use TRC foam tires (rear) and Jaco foam tyres (front) and Zip Grip (the cancerous stuff ) with my Xray. I have 1 degree neg. camber front, and 1.5 degrees rear, 0 degree front toe and 2 degrees rear toe in. 6 degrees front castor, a P2K Pro, MTRONIKS sprint ESC (which makes me - its rubbish) and Acoms Transmitter and Receiver and Sanyo 2400MaH cells. Our track is a medium twisty, predictable layout and is fast in places but with tricky hairpin 's' bends (i race at Teeside-TRCC- in england). My car flies and is geared 93/32 48dp. I will be completely changing my gearing by next time I race, to 120/45, 64dp.
Thanks (in advance) for expressing your opinions,
MrSquirrel

One more thing, be hospitable to Fiisch.2001, Kart38 and Big Pete if they (or already have) trot(ted) on over here

Carpet racing is awesome. I race carpet all year round and love it !!! We also use foams which rule, one of these days foams will be legal in all racing classes.

Do You need to run different springs and weights of oils
when you run on carpet??

How about tires....... harder or softer then when you run on the pavement
