In the process of building my first pan car, a GenX10. I got the first frontend slotted capture insert in, but I can't get the second one to start threading. I put it in at an angle, feel it tighten up, but this one pops out instead of threading in. The first one tightened up and then threaded in. Taking a break to let my fingers recover. Could use some moral support ;>
I remember having similar issues with one side of my Gen-X 10 upon initial assembly.
I took everything apart so I only had the two parts to deal with. Got it fully threaded with a 1/4" blade screwdriver; and then disassembled it to put everything together.
Bought a complete spare front end and never had a problem assemblying it.
I can visualize a specially design screwdriver that would do it...no problem. Maybe CRC is listening...again...LOL.

If you have two of the top pod plates, you can superglue them together to have the same effect as the new thicker one. Use longer screws to fasten to pod.

I find it easier to first go counter clockwise until the thread "clicks", then turning clockwise. Sounds simple, but since I have done this I havnt cross threaded a single plastic part.

For the TP5000 1S pack (no bumps), I used the solid molded battery tray and cut out a section of the slotted battery tray to firmly hold the pack in place at the front end of the tray. It is held in place with servo tape. My ESC sits behind the pack and rests on a Center Mount Speed Control Plate #1772.
The 2mm standard top deck for the rear pod and the front steering knuckles are weak spots. Get the new 4mm Top Plate #1764 and a 2-3 sets of the Steering Blocks #3251 (They come paired as left and right side components).

For the 1s SMC40/25s this tray works pretty nice. You will also be able to lower the upper deck a little if you want, or add some foam to the bottom of the upper deck. http://www.manutech.info/151104specs.html

So far, no special tray from CRC or anyone else...me thinks...

I looked on the crc site & at stormer hobbies & amain hobbies . I could not find PART # 1772 or part # 1764. I was thinking about getting the nerf wing plates i saw eairler in the thread , & mounting the esc there . Also for the you guys that are running 1s lipo , are you using a small reciver pack or a voltage booster like this ?.

Is one better than the other or is there no real difference ?. I did notice the TQ booster is smaller than the novak . Also does the TQ unit increase the power to 6 volts like the novak unit ?.
