It looks like the spool and one way I got with my car had different widths. I picked up some diffs and another one way and spool for a tb04. You can see the width of the one way drive inserts vary. The 44mm CVD is correct, but if you have narrow drive inserts you need 46mm.

I ended up using the gear diff in the front and a ball diff in the rear the car rotates very well now.

Anyone have TB-03 parts for sale? What TB-04 parts fit the TB-03? Any other Tamiyas have parts that fit a TB-03?

Bulkheads and diffs fit from tb04/05, suspension from TRF416 is used on varety of Tamiya cars, basically only TB03 specific part is chassis, steering, motor mount and centre shaft.

Hi guys,

sorry for grave digging but I wanted to share some pictures of my recently updated and finished TB-03 with you.
Some weeks ago I have decided to do a kind of "Box Art Car" out of my parking lot racer TB03. I was stuck the some of the original TB-03R pictures, which can be found online and tried to use as many contemporary Tamiya parts (TEU-302 BK for example) or recent replacements with similar appearance (TRU-08) as possible. I'm nort sure about the "Lightly Tuned Motor", but colorwise it fits neatly in the overall picture.
I would have loved to add one of the old Tamiya NiMH 3700mAh battery packs (part number 55094), but sadly, i wasn't able to find one of these.
I have updated the car with TB04 gear diffs, both are equipped with the steel bevel gears and cross shafts, the front unit is further updated with Aluminium cup joints. I also replaced the stock dogbones shafts with universal ones, 42mm front and 44mm ones in the rear.
Other nice blue updates can be seen in the pictures. :)

The result:

Some more pictures can be found in my TB-03 album.
I'm curious what you think of my "TB03 pro" :-)

Regards,
Michael
