Okay after a few test sessions I finally got the car ready for 17.5 indoor carpet but I have a few questions:
1. The ride height issue was a pain to get down to 4.5mm and 5.0mm respectively so I made the pushrods 12mm and the used an o-ring inside the rear shocks since I'm already at 0mm on the shock threads. Is this correct or is there an easier way to go?
2. Below is a picture of my electronics layout, obviously space is at a premium but does anyone else have a better layout running brushless?
3. The new 3.0mm carbon rear damper tower changes the body mounting position to the outside (a good thing since the stock one gets in the way of the droop/rebound adjustment). I assume this will be the same as the 416 now?

dragracer72nova: The TB-03 should be great for GT-3 and GT-2. If nothing else you should upgrade to universal swing shafts (get the steel ones for the front and can go aluminum in the back) and aluminum diff halves. TRF shocks are nice but the plastic ones work just fine. If you are racing GT-2 you will need to swap out the spur since you need to get to a FDR of 3.5~4.0. The TB-03 is a great car and I'm current using it in 17.5 (I'm using it over a 416).

The only problem I have is I have a TA05IFS and the TB03IFS. I do not know which one I would like to race in GT2 or GT3.

for me it's a comfort thing.
When I find a setup for the TB03 that I like, I'll eventually run the TB03 in the 17.5 class at my local track.
I barely nicked a barrier during my first practice run with the TB03 and broke a C carrier.... I'm currently waiting for the replacement parts.
How do you guys make quick pinion changes using a BL motor. I have to remove the motor mount. Seems like the shaft of the motor is way long.

What kind of pinions are you using? The Robinson Racing 64p pinions have a lower stack height so just taking out the gear cover works. I have some PRS pinions and they have a higher stack height so switching pinions is a pain but found the Robinson gears to be fine. I currently run up to a 53 pinion from Robinson Racing and that seems to work fine (with a RR 78 spur...I tried the PRS 72 spur but it was hard to look at the gear mesh since the spur was black and the RR ones are white). I'm also using the Novak 17.5 motor doesn't seem be a problem interms of motor shaft length.
Have you found a solid setup for the 17.5 class yet? oil, piston, spring, ride height, sways? I'm still in the initial stages of figuring out what this chassis likes. ex. does it like to lean... or stay flat...

I'm using a 57 PRS one. I'll look into the Robinson Racing pinions. I'll going to switch to a 74t spur so my pinions don't have to be quite so large. I'm using an 86 spur and 56-57 pinion right now.

Also before I forget, I have the TB-03 stock parts (drive shafts, axles, shocks, etc) and if you need the stock parts they are yours for free. Just pay for shipping. Markus: Here is the setup I am using right now but I will finalize it when I get back to the track on Sunday. This is for a medium size carpet track with good grip. I have some final testing to do on Sunday but this seems to work for me. I've upgraded all the parts except for the carbon rear damper stay (in the mail) and the chassis (no Tamiya option yet available). I haven't messed with different suspension mount combos yet. Running stock settings except for the following:
