Breaks my heart to think about retiring the car, but with parts support being so hard to find it makes me nervous to run the car. If I decide to run it this weekend instead of my 416 I will post up how the shock towers work out.
you can get parts for this car from champ r/c, all the HK shops and TamiyaUSA.com

Some of the parts yes, but not a spur gear holder for a Evo 5 MS. Its different than the standard evo5. And that's the part I need I emailed rcmarket, champ, checked Tamiya usa, wala wala store, etamiya, nothing.

Big difference, Evo5MS had quick change spur gear setup. Makes changing the spur gear easier than the other Evo's. Motor mount is different on the MS, so swapping parts from other Evo's probably could be done but you would have to change everything out.

wow your right, i just looked at both parts and there is a huge difference.
I guess that MS setup is to make changing the spur more efficient. What a shame you cant get the replacement.
How did you bend it?

Yes, spur gear changes are faster, and motor placement with the MS motor mount moves weight a little more forward than the normal EVO5. There were quite a few little things that make the MS edition pretty unique. Different steering setup, chassis plate is different, etc.

Hehe I bent it a little when I ran a 4 turn mod motor in the car with 2s lipo. It only has a very small amount of run out, but I'm OCD about things like that. Shaft cars don't like drivetrain vibration either when you turn them up really high. I may just machine the part myself idk.

What you running this weekend Timmie? I got my parts in for the Yok. So I may run that instead of the 415. Is the drivers stand finished yet?

Are the HPI or Xray springs shorter than the Tamiya standard springs? With the 416 shock towers you need shorter springs to get the ride height down. Current with whites in front and blues in rear the ride height is 6.5mm and 5.5mm and that's with the collar all the way up and also running the -1mm down stops. I assume the Tamiya short springs might work.

Depends on which version hpi springs you have, my hara springs are 2 mm shorter than standard Tamiya springs. But I have some older HPI springs that are progressive rate that are about 2 mm taller than standard Tamiya springs. Yeah Tamiya shorts will work out for you.

Bought one and it fits with some shimming. But don't use the gears that come with it. Use the existing.
