Tamiya USA got the Evo V MS back in stock so it would appear not discontinued. At least not right now.

Does anyone have a spare upper brace they would like to sell (part 3454589)? I posted in the WTB thread but thought this audience might have one available. PM me if you do. Thanks.

I wonder if some of the parts were never made available as spares. I looked for a motor mount and it didn't appear anyone had ever carried them. I know someone was thinking of making a one piece top deck that would replace the top deck and upper brace. That might solve your problem. I assume you cut the brace?

No problems. I have run IP 5000 40C Lipo and also ran the SMC 4700 40C lipos. I know the Reedy 5000 35C fits without issues. You just need to add weight to the battery side to balance everything out. I made a battery box for mine. I'll take a picture of it when I get back on Wednesday.

I ran mine outside the top deck so no clearance issues. Plus running it a little further out helps with balance.

I run a ThunderPower 40c 5000 lipo in my evo and don't have clearance problems at all. I stuck lead to the side of the case and towards the middle of the car. Then flipped the center post and now use that as what I push the battery against before taping it in. Looks clean and my car balances like this.

On a unrelated note, does anyone know where I could get a new spur gear holder #3454583? I have been looking for one and haven't had any luck. Mine has developed a little bit of run out and was hoping to just replace it with a new one. Thanks

Of course looks can be deceiving but the unit for the TB03 looks very similar to the Evo IV's discontinued unit..???

Has anyone tried running the 416 shock towers on the Evo 5 or Evo 5 MS? They fit on the bulkheads and lower the mounting positions (more significant on the outer positions).

Hi,

I thought about trying it out on my evo, but didn't think they would fit for some reason, but if you got them to work I might try it out. I straightened out my spur gear holder so I may try to continue to run the car. Breaks my heart to think about retiring the car, but with parts support being so hard to find it makes me nervous to run the car. If I decide to run it this weekend instead of my 416 I will post up how the shock towers work out.

The shock towers bolt out without issues but the problem I have is getting the correct ride height since the holes on the 416 are lower. I'll mess some more on this tonight and track testing this weekend.
