Default Tenergy Propel cells?

Has anybody tried these? Supposed to be their performance series?

http://www.all-battery.com/index.asp...OD&ProdID=1992

According to their product description it says, "Tenergy Sub C 4500mAh Propel Model--Beat or match IB Packs" and the specs seem to show some promise of being somewhat a competitive performer.

However from the disappointed reviews I've read about the 3800's, I can only hope these aren't overrated as such... even if it was overrated (again) and giving it the benefit of a doubt conservative approach here... at those prices would it still be a decent basher/club racer pack at whatever the true underlying values maybe?

Do you think that maybe the Propel cells are the good manufactured '4500's while the ones that don't make the cut become the regular red label 4500's?

Let me know what you guys think. For the price it either seems like a good value or too good to be true.

I wanna know the truth...

blue tenergy 3800 were my first R/C packs. they were great for the price. i ran stock and the car was pretty fast. they peaked at 9.3V+. when i got my first matched pack i switched to mod racing so i can't help u there. but they should be excellent for bashing and practice.

Tenergy is a good company, i may be wrong but i think they make many of the 'everday' batteries we use.....duracell,energizer.........etc.

Three guys were running them at our track last Saturday, one of them won the race in 1/12 scale stock with a new track record, the others did very well also. As for durability don't know.

Default Tenergy 4500 red/black cell

I just started using the Red/black 4500 and they must be over rated because I've yet to get a 4500mah into these cells. I have two 4 cell packs that only take 4000mah. They run good but the capacity is not there. I've equalized them down to zero and charged to 3900-3973mah. That is my experience so far.

wow so the quality still hasn't improved huh? I was at least hoping for those red label 4500's to be at least closer to the spec.

Did you guys remake them into side by side configuration? Is that the only way to make them perform for the price?

With that much voltage off the charger how was the speed/punch?

Well to be honest the batteries work well but i was expecting 4200-4300 at least. But for the price they are good batteries for club racing. It beats paying 42 bucks for a "club level" 4 cell pack. 3.50 per cell I think.

I just bought the tenergy 4500 propel's. (12 cells) I will be assembling them and trying them out to see how they compare to my IB4200's. I'll post my findings...

am i right these are the same as the grepow 4500's? same company i think. i have those, and they aren't the best performing cells around, but take abuse like nothing else. i don't even balance them except from the odd trickle charge.
