Default FDR on Touring.

Hello.

I am new to brushless systems and wanted to ask whats the best FDR range for 13.5 novak system GTB/13.5 Sport or something. I have to make an order for pinions and spur gear because i am not able to buy almost anything on the spot. Track is quite large. Here is pic. http://www.rcdrift.lv/atteli/rakstiem/placis_04a.jpg not drifting but touring car racing, picture is hosted on the server. Thanks.

For a large asphalt track like you have pictured, you will probably be in the 4.6 - 4.8 FDR range. It looks similar in size to what we run on in Tacoma Washington. Start with 4.8 and temp your motor after about 5 laps. It should not exceed 160 degrees F. This is assuming that you are using the Novak 13.5 with a 12.3 mm sintered rotor.

If internal gear ratio is 2 then the pinion and spur ratio should be 2.4 for FDR to be 4.8. spur somewhere 70 and pinion 29 at 48p. DO they even make 70t spurs? Or should i try 78t spur and some 33t pinion?

Senyor Logika, yes they do make 48p 70t spurs. try kawada or robinson racing. So how's the performance of the NOVAK 13.5 BL motor?.. fast/quick enough?...
