I am not sure you can down grade, but since we don't really have an Xcelorin tech on the thread anymore it is really hard to say.

Default Xcelorin S w/ 1s and 13.5 in WGT

Hey, all. I hadn't seen anything on using a single cell pack with the Xcelorin S so I decided to try it out last night and it works when used in conjuction with a receiver pack. I was running a CRC Gen X10, Thunder Power 1s 5000 40C pack, Novak 13.5 motor, 180mah 7.4v rx pack and Spektrum reciever. I had to try a few different scenarios to get it all to work correctly but I found what worked for me. You need to first plug in (or turn on) your reciever pack then plug in the single cell battery and leave the ESC switched off. I was able to run 6-minutes heats very easily this way. Now I need to do some fine tunning on the roll out as well as the ESC settings. I'll keep posting what I find with different setups/changes....if any one cares.

I have been running my senesored xcelorin system in my CRC Gen X 12th for a while now. I use the novak booster instead of the reciever pack though. Works great. I have the 4 cell plate on the speedo as well to reduce wieght and height of the speedo.

Any new updates on the Xcelorin ESC software? I have a used one that I am going to put on my Type R and enter it in the 13.5 novice class at Speedworld as soon as I can get some track time under my belt. I would like to be able to keep up and not get blasted by the Tekin or LRP esc's

I care. I will probably be running a 1 cell/13.5 or 1 cell 10.5 setup this winter in a WGT car. Keep us posted!

I emailed losi this exact question about 2 weeks ago and they replied saying "at this point there is no plan to add those features to the xcelorin". I think if I get into onroad more I will just go ahead and buy a tekin. However, in the novice class i'm sure that driving will be a much bigger issue than the speed control. I'll use my losi for offroad, where I usually run mod.

I have a speedpassion GT2.0 for my Corally RDX that I am going to put in the RCGT 17.5 Class and the Losi Type R with Losi ESC for 13.5. If i am not keeping up I maybe eventually get the SP GT for the 13.5 or maybe upgrade to Tekin RS. I doubt I would need the RS Pro since I will never run Mod Class.

For offroad I had done really well with my xcelorin speedo's keeping up with the LRP's and tekins in 13.5. They have just a little more top speed then I do but I have way more punch on the infield.

In my 12th scale though I can keep up in the infield but I loose them on the straights. For novice you will be just fine with the xcelorin. Keep it off the boards and you will do fine. Once you start playing at the upper levels speed will matter more.

Default WGT Update!

Hey, all. Got to run the Gen X10, Xcelorin, single cell combo again last night. However, I forgot the laptop again so I was stuck with tuning via the QPC card....which has it's limits. Anyway, the car ran better and I'm still sneaking up on the correct roll out. Also, I started noticing a slight "delay" with the throttle later in the run, but I think my rx pack was running low which may have some how effected the throttle response. I can't even remember if I charged the rx pack last night!! Anyway, testing is still going well and I hope to bring home a win soon!! Later!!

No. The timing is fixed on the motor.

yeah.... that would be nice... I have since relegated that Xcelorin to my 2WD off road chassis as it simply can't keep up with the current generation of ESCs. Need stronger and less-fade brakes and more timing options.

I was able to adjust the timing on my Losi 17.5 motor, but the timing ring has a tendency to "stick" on newer motors. I freed the timing ring by running a fresh X-Acto blade CAREFULLY between the motor can and the timing ring.

Timing advance is really only something you need in onroad. I have been racing against timing advance guys for a while in offroad and don't feel at a disadvantage at all. When I had my 12th scale though a totally different feeling. Wish I had it.

I know losi is looking into new stuff including timing advance as they are always in develpment but nothing I know of that is imminent. In the mean time I am still extremely please with my xcelorin equipment in my offroad cars.
