Hi All....

I've noticed that the Xcelorin S ESCs brakes are not very consistent at all... Not sure if its just myself that has experienced this. Sometimes its strong, and at other times its pretty weak; and it fades off in strength towards the end of the race. I have installed the latest firmware updates and this made it better, but its still lacking in comparision to the LRP TC-Spec that I run in the other car.

Any insights?

Make sure your at firmware version D010128, then per instructions reset to factory defaults. Then recalibrate your system with the transmitter set to 100% throw for throttle and brakes. The problem you mention was in an earlier version. Braking percent is Initial Brake % and you can turn the EPA down to reduce full braking strength. If you have your brake percent set to 80% and then turn down your EPA below approximately 70% or less then change your brake % to 60 % and rasie your EPA. If the EPA gets too low then you might experience something similar.

Default ESC????

Hi there, just bought xcelorin brushless 1/10 sensored esc and 3.5t motor. Tried to update esc firmware and I'm a bit confused. When I installed software and connected to esc I looked at the settings that were originally in the esc. It has firmware version D 11.01.23. I've tried to update firmware using software v1 and v2 but both versions look for a file D1101*.lsc when the latest firmware that I've downloaded is D 010128 ????????? What am I doing wrong here. Can't seem to figure it out. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Just thought i'd share my thoughts

Had my new 6.5 Xcelorin for just over a week now, it's my first brushless system and i'm more than pleased with it. I purchased the combo and so far, no problems with the motor or speed controller at all.
I put it in my B4 and so far i've geared it 19/81 which is what most people are reccomending and getting excellent torque and more than decent top speed. I've also swapped out the pinion and geared 23/81 and no problems with the motor over heating at all even with the motor timing set to very high, all be it with a 7.2v Nimh but even so i think thats gotta be impressive
Getting run times of about 15-20 minutes with the motor timing at 'Very High' and the Initial acceleration set to 'High', on a 3300mah stick pack battery.

Would definately recommend Xcelorin to anyone.

I have a Xcelorin 17.5 sensored. Is the timing adjustable on the motor?(not the esc) If so, how? I don't see any kind of marks anywhere.

the timing isnt adjustable on the motor, just on the esc, normally i set the timing at 4 or 6 and it works really well, ive race people with adjustable timing on their motors and they dont end up any quicker

Hi Guys
I have a xcelorin 10.5 and my question is, the motor has provision to adjust the timing, by turning the notched back plate clock wise/anti clock wise, looking from the sensor wire end of the motor, what timing in deg's is fully clock wise, and what timing in deg's is fully advanced(turning anti clock wise).

Set your break and throttle EPA's to 100% on your radio. Make sure the throttle trim is set to 0.

1. Turn on the transmitter.
2. While turning on the vehicle Press and Hold the setup button, notice the
Yellow LED is now ON solid. When the Yellow LED is on solid, you can release
the setup button.
Note: If you cannot get the ESC to Calibrate, you may need to reverse your
Throttle Servo on the transmitter.
3. Using the throttle trigger pull Full Throttle until the Green LED is ON solid.
4. Next push the throttle trigger to Full Brake until the Red LED is ON solid.
5. Now return the throttle trigger to the Neutral position and the Blue LED is
ON solid.
6. Turn off the vehicle/ESC power switch.
7. Turn the vehicle/ESC back ON; you are now ready to use the ESC.

I want to run 3S lipo with this speedo. Do I have to install a new fan or an additional BEC?

The ESC is rated for 3S so no BEC needed. I would run the fan on the speedo though with that much power.
