Well I talked to one of the Novak guys at the iHobby show this past weekend and he says that Losi most likely had the GTB sent to China to get copied and threw on the Losi label and made a few additions. Now that I am going on my third sensored 1/10 Xcelorin ESC, I think I have to believe him. The first one would not accept my battery settings, the second one had low speed glitch problems until it eventually wouldn't move w/throttle input unless the motor/car was bumped. I had two different motors with the same symptoms. If the third one I get back from Losi fails on me, I am going to get my money back. I've always liked their electric racing truck kits, but when it comes to electronics I think I'll look elsewhere.

I have three of them running them with either Novak or Hacker motors and have not experienced any issues with them. I have two of them in sedans and the other one is in my MF2. I had to make adjustments to the one in the truck since settings I was using in my sedans did not translate well to the truck, but other then that they have been flawless.

I'm trying to figure out which system to get for a xxxt-cr. Looking at the 10.5 or 6.5 combo. Small indoor clay track with about a 85-100' straight. Which one would u guys get? I have a slash with the vxl combo right now and it rips.

i ran a 5.5 at an indoor track and WOW it was retarded fast, i would pull on every car goind gown the straigt. tires looked like pizza cutters. But it was to much power, i would have done much better running a 10.5

I ran an 8.5 in my XXXT-CR this summer on a big track and it was PLENTY of motor. A 10.5 for a smaller indoor track is going to be fine.

Itīs very curious how a ZTWOEM 120A sensored ESC,

http://www.ztwoem.com/en/products_view.asp?id=31

is identical to a Xcelorin ESC,and the best thing,is that the Xcelorin software WORKS(and you can adjust and load the parameters to the ESC) with the ZTW unit.
In the ESC Software window it appears ff.ff.ff version.
But do not try to make a firmware update,I "killed" my ESC...

Losi,Novak,ZTWOEM,anymore???

Got this system. Even with the ESC programmed to 40% brakes using the card and with my M11 at 150% EPA on the brakes I only have a slight and I mean very slight amount of braking. Pretty much a free roller. I have calibrated the esc a couple of times. I did test then shut off and restart the esc to save the settings. I dont know why but I just cant seem to get any brakes dialed into the unit.

Any suggestions other than switching to another brand?

thanks.

If the car is overgeared, it can also result in very mushy or little brakes. Try going at least a couple of teeth down and see if that improves it.

This is quite surprising honestly. 40% braking is a LOT on this speedo.

What class are you running? Battery/Motor/Gearing info would help too.

I know on my 12th scale, with 80/53 gearing on a 17.5 even WITHOUT the big power cap, the car still has plenty of brakes. Not that I need them in 12th anyway. In TC, the car will pretty much strip a spur if I have the brake % up too high.

Is the red light coming on when you hit the brakes?

I have it installed in a RC10R5 and the gearing is tall. 36p/88sp. The gearing may be the issue. Yes the red light comes on.

I am going to try to hook up to my computer and see if I can get an update or something. A guy I know uses this same combo with the same gearing and is not having this issue. I will post up if this works for the next unlucky soul who encounters this issue.

thanks.
