Default Lipo Charger

hi which "lipo charger" can you recommend between the two,
Hyperion 0606i or Imax B6?

Or can you suggest any brand of charger with balancer for lipo?

Price = $98.95

someone i know told me he regret getting the b6 as he has told me that it dosent balance properly, anyway i vote for the hyperion 606i
or better still top up abit more and get the 610 but you will need a power supply for that just bought it and it works great for me

Well I like my Hyperion AC/DC 606 whatever#.
I don't even have to haul a power supply to the track.
It is all good but if at some point it is proven better to charge at more than 1c a version that charges at a minimum of 10amps will be better.
I think 6 amps is great so far for 4000 smc's.

my opinion:

A buddy of mine and I recently bought the Thunderpower 610C with built in balancer and it is nice. It is small, It comes with an adapter that hooks up directly to my SMC 4000 lipo balancing plug. It is roughly 129 dollars online, a little high but it does nimh, nicad, lipo, A123 and lead acid batteries. Here is a link for ThunderPower here http://www.thunderpowerrc.com/html/cba-chargers.html

I would go with the Core UDC-20. Very nice little charger with a built in balancer. And it has a low cost. I picked 1 up at $90.

Losi's new Intelligent LiPo Balance Charger is the same charger as the Core-RC UDC20. Price is the same, Losi's is Blue, Core-RC's is Black.

I don't know much about the Hyperion chargers. I do know that the Thunderpower has a built in balancer, backlit display, Charge up to 10 amps, it does lipo, NIMH, NICD, A123, and lead acid. It also will charge it to 100%, 75%, and 50% capacities. Not sure about the exact numbers but it's something like that. I think you would use that for just making sure some charge is in the battery before you store it.

The ThunderPower 610 is very very similar to the Hyperion 610i in features. (610 just means up to 6S for cells @ up to 10A charge)

I have the Hyperion 610i because that is what my research lead me to buy several months ago. Since I have many NiMH and a few Lead Acid batteries I wanted the 10Amp charge rate. You can Update the 610i when new firmware comes out, something that will be needed if another battery type comes out or LiPO can start being charged at more than 2C. There are optional PC data loggers and temp probes to better track your batteries.

For the airplane guys, the Hype 610i can be linked with another 610i to chager a 12s battery pack at 500W.

I have the hyperion 606i, happy with it. Thinking of the dual hyperion now to be able to do 2 at a time and with the 606i make that three lipos at the same time.

Keep in mind that the Hyperion AC/DC balance charger can only charge up to 50W max. So if you are using high capacity 3S, 4S or bigger packs you won't be able to charge at 1C.

I had the Hyperion EOS 0610i Net and it was awesome. But since I wanted to charge two packs at once I sold it the other day and bought the Hyperion EOS 0610i Duo charger. The EOS 0610i Net can charge up to 250W and the Duo that I just got can do 180W per channel. I use 3S and 4S high capacity packs (4000mah to 6000mah) in my brushless 1/8th scale buggy and truggy so the 180W is fine.

Best regards,
