Kai and Square make non-original option chassis plates for various cars.

Kai normally sells their stuff in Japan only, and usually as a full set.

Default Question from a Tamiya Rookie

Hi,

I'm been driving touring cars for about 6 months now, and currently own Factory Team TC3 and Xray EVO 2.

I want to participate in the Tamiya TCS, and since this will be my third car, I want to keep my costs to a minimum. The new EVO 3 is so new so I know I won't get a decent deal on that car, plus parts are in limited supply.

I'm thinking about getting a 414M2 and I know a lot of you guys like this car.

My question: Is the M2 and TA04 the same car? What's the differences?

If you have a M2 you want to sell, let me know.

Thanks again for your help. BTW, I live 6 miles away from the Tamiya HQ in California. This is an awesome track. I just saw the big Reedy race and it was great to see all the world drivers race there. I saw David Jun drive his EVO 3, and he dominated the heat I saw.

The TA04 series of cars is basically similar to the 414M2. It shares a lot of parts and design.
In fact, the TA04 series came from the 414. If you go to Tamiya English site you will find a history of the 414M2 cars. Anyway, as far as waht to get. It seemed like you own good high quality cars. So even if I recommend you the TA04-R which is probably your best bet to buy you will likely not be satisfied. So get yourself the 414M2 or EVO 3. Just remember, the car to buy that will qualify you in GT1, GT2 and GT3, will be the R and you will not go wrong with it. EVO 3 and 414M2 will only be good for GT1. Oh, I just wish I live close to the TA track like you. I have to drive almost an hour every weekend to get there, but it's worth it.

Hey Izzyracer,

I remember that you did the short wheel base mod to your 04R that you posted in the 04 thread a while back.

Did you have to change the dog-bones for that mod?... did you have to go shorter than 39mm?... Thanks

i got the new one-way for my 414mII. and it seems to wiggles in between the bulkhead.
anyone else have this problem?

or is it just because my bulkheads are swtiched around? does it matter?

anyone have to put a spacer inbetween it
