I would rather have 100 in each class... means something when you make the "A" not that you just showed up.......

best racing I have done was in the "E" stock 12th scale main at cleveland where 5 guys qualified with a 44 8:08 and the whole main was within 4 or 5 seconds of each other qualifing. it was a blast to freight train the track with other driver at my skill level. you thought about popping a board and lost 5 places. Intense!

trust me I would of loved to run the 8th buggy offroad worlds. 220 some drivers 1 class! I would of taken my last place in the odd 1024 main.

Is the 21.5/Lipo minimum weight right?
1/10th 13.5/4-cell = 41 oz.
1/10th 17.5/4-cell = 41 oz.
1/10th 17.5/LiPo = 41 oz.

but
1/10th 21.5/LiPo = 38 oz ?? That's 3 oz lighter than normal.

That matches what the BRL races do. I can say after runninng the class at thier first race in Omaha, you will not believe how close this class will be. 1st - 35th was 12 seconds!

and yes I was 35th!!

Thats about how much lighter a 3200 lipo is over a normal pack. Even with that as the min weight 99% of guys will still have to add weight to make 38 oz.

EA
EA You're dead on.

I added 7gm just to make sure that with tire wear, I was ok in Omaha. That was using the spec SMC 3200, Darkside Enemy solid, spec Novak 21.5, Futaba Fasst receiver and Tekin RS ESC. Oh and some pretty short wire!!

Had the wrong link for news:
http://www.snowbirdnationals.com./2009news.htm

Yes the 21.5/3200 oval class is 38 OZ. Just the 'industry' standard, and as Eric mentioned, the 3200 is that much lighter than a 5000 pack.

Entry poll is really fun to watch.... there is a cookie/IP watch to prevent multiple votes on it so it is a good indication of interest this far out. So many wait for the entry list to get on-line it has been delaying sign-ups later and later each year, maybe this will give a little hint and avoid some anticipation.

We will once again cap total entries to keep things pretty even if they are appear to be getting high... but we won't know this until January more than likey.

Thanks everyone for the interest and support. 2009 is looking to be an exciting and successful year once again - thanks to all of you! CYA!

As we get closer to the race, we start figuring out what classes are close to being even, and try to level them off. This is after the holidays so plenty of time to get them in. We announce on our site if any classes are close to being full once class counts get updated as entries come in...
