Default 1s question

Hi Guys

hope someone can help, I have just setup my 12th scale that i have not run in ages, set it up with a 10.5 motor and tekin rs pro esc, and first time running it on 1s, my problem is this:

the esc powers up and the receiver and servo work fine but there is no audible beeps from the esc/motor, and the motor is dead,

i have hooked up a second car close by (Touring car on 2s ) to use the output of that esc as a receiver pack power (for testing purposes only) as my receiver pack is on order but don't have one yet.

I then proceed as suggested a few pages back and disconnect the red wire from the Tekin's esc plug that goes into the receiver, then power everything up and it stays the same, receiver and servo work fine but motor is still dead !

however if i plug the red wire back into the receiver and then power everything back up again, i get the audio beeps and motor works fine.

surely the receiver pack should not have to power the esc aswell ??? or is this normal? if so how long will a 200mah receiver pack last ?

your help will be very much appreciated

Leave the red wire in and you will have to use a pack or booster. I am using about 80mah per 8 minute run.

i think i agree with you as 80mah per run will not kill the runtime with 10.5 even on a 1s

This is what push control is for. Anytime you're running this fast down a long straight away even lifting on the throttle causes a huge deceleration. This is what push control helps. This will hold a small amount of throttle on so the car doesn't get upset chassis wise.

can push control be used in 0 timing mode ???

would this help keep some corner speed ???

Yes & Yes, especially in 17.5 as the motor will not have as much work to do when you want to accelerate again, the revs will stay up more with push control.

The slower the motor, the more push control I use, as much as 45 even.
I don't use it for mod though.

I've made some tests and it seems that it is coming from the Turbo, If the turbo does not engage, I don't get this effect...

Have anybody heard of that?

(Sorry for my english)
You can either use push control (as others mention) or you can try to use a taller gearing. In my experience, a short gearing will have a lot of natural drag brake.

Personally I don't like using push control (though it can be useful on some tracks). I'd rather use a taller gearing, but I do know that some people will have temp issues using the same settings and gearing as me.

Well I finally replaced my old 3PJS radio running a Spektrum module with a new Spektrum DX3R Pro and already I can feel a difference in how much smoother the throttle is on my 1/12th scale. I haven't had a chance to test yet to see if it also fixes the turbo fade issue I've been having on my TC but I have high hopes given how much better the 1/12th felt

Push control can help. Also consider turbo ramp rate. As soon as you move from full throttle the turbo starts reducing at the same ramp rate it was added. With a lot of turbo and a fast ramp rate of 1 the fast reduction in turbo can almost feel like brakes.

How much push control would you recommend in 13.5 1c 1/12th boosted?
