No.

The Tekin motors come with a sensor wire though.

question:
if the turbo delay set to 0.0, and set boost start rpm high...
what happen when i punch the throtle from stop (low motor rpm),
is the speedo will apply boost timing+turbo directly or not before start+end rpm sequence done then the turbo kick in..

With your setup using the zero turbo delay when you punch the throttle, the esc will start applying TURBO immediately and when you get to your start rpm only then will the BOOST TIMING be added through your set rpm range.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. I will try that next time at the track.

I thought that I should keep timing below 62-65 degrees - but as far as I can hear, this rule is BS?

My problem with setups like this is that if you are at low speed and not at full throttle you are getting no boost/turbo at all. It seems like that would make for a jerky setup in tight infields.

Interested to hear what the deal is.

Hopefully not that the level playing field sportsman is supposed to be hasn't been that level after all.

as far as equivalent endbell timing, what i could gather so far from posted settings:

bodine's spec 1/12 and wgt setup with duo2 at 20.
hara's boosted tc with duo2 at 8.

maybe a duo2 at 8degrees compares to tekin at 0?
and duo2 at 20degree suggests tekin at 12?

X12 4dot is similar to tekin at 0
so a 2dot or 1dot X12 is similar to duo2 at 20 and tekin at 12

so a starting timing settings for a zero-timed spec class might be:
duo2 at 20
tekin at 12
X12 2dot or 1dot

one obvious flaw in this logic is duo2 at 20 is also max timing, so it isn't clear whether more than 12degrees on the tekin isn't worth going after.

any advice or experience on endbell timing for this spec class is welcome.

Default 1/12 scale 17.5 setups??

Hi,

There's only one software 208 1/12 scale setup on the Tekin website--and it's for 13.5. I started there. But---does anyone have a really good setup for 1s/ 1/12 scale on carpet-- Tekin Rs in an associated car--Novak 17.5 motor w/ stock endbell timing? I'm racing this weekend and a call to Tekin got me no help at all. Just -
"email" Randy Pike. But when I did that---I got an auto-response saying he wouldn't get back RE: sponsorship for 4 to 6 weeks!!!
NO one could answer any questions at Tekin---then--"try the chat room"!! NO ONE THERE EITHER!!! Geez---it's a simple question about their products?
Help!!!

well i can say that my 12th setup with a redline 13.5 compared to others that have duo2 is that they need 15-20 more timing and gear just to keep up and the same with the x12.i run no turbo setups with redlines and the murfdogg 13.5 and others use turbo and motor timing

First, there are four 208 12th scale setups on the Tekin web site, not one as you say. There is one 17.5 spec, two 13.5 and one 10.5 (mine). Several have been recent additions so you may have missed them.

You don't say whether you want a stock setup or a timing setup. If you want a stock one try Brian Bodine's. If you want a timing setup, 208 setups are still pretty similar to 203 setups, so try Yang Lai's setup from the web site.

If you are prepared to search there have been several setups posted on this thread too.

Hope this helps.
