Gonna be running an Epic Duo 2, 5000mah 50C 2s lipo. Im estimating a FDR of 6.3 or more(up from a 6.7 i run at a local parking lot track). Any experienced tekin guys willing to help out on a setup to run for the RS? I would appreciate it greatly. At least that can give me a reference point.

If it's an electric race at Kissimmee the layout they use will not be 250x100.
Its electric and nitro. So im assuming the track will be little smaller. But at least I have something to go on. any help would be greatly appreciated
i would start with a setting close to above with timing on a can 3 dots from max geared 6-7
but i would start with rmp range with 4xxx to 12000 and a .4 delay
always remember temp is key. so when trying a new setup run for 2 mins and then temp if you are below 50c run for another 3 mins and if temps are below 70c i will then allow the motor to cool and run for 5mins and then temp again
then you can start to fine tune. looking at your infield speed and punch and were your turbo is kicking in
if you dont have enough punch you can lower the end rpm or raise it if its to agressive or try a lower fdr
also look at were the turbo is kicking on the straight. If its kicking to late droop a tooth or two one the pinion or lower the delay
But as mentioned above temp is key when trying any new changes to your setup

I had some interesting results on the weekend.
I'm running a 13.5 touring class on a very large asphalt track. Using Tekin RS and Redline.
I was running my FDR down near 4.5 as there is a monster back straight, and a fairly large sweeper through the middle. Others ran even lower than that.
After talking to one of the fastest guys, I upped my FDR to a whopping 6.0. Didn't change anything else as I didn't have my laptop.
Lap times were exactly the same, consistency was down to 1 second between 3 races (that is fantastic for me, it's usually 10 seconds variance between races), and motor temps were down from about 55ºC to 45ºC.
I lost a bit of top speed, and it went a bit flat prior to the turbo kicking in, so that is an easy fix, as I have a cool motor, and not a lot of timing yet.
Just goes to show, when you get the motor into that power-range of RPM, the gains are massive.

So lowering the end rpm increase acceleration? What does the beginning rpm do?

Motor Timing: Launch
Motor timing is an absolute. It’s effective throughout the entire range of the cars speed. This is the adjustment that should be made for the first few feet of car travel.
Timing Boost: Acceleration
The ideal start/end rpm for boost will depend on the platform/chassis being used along with track size and motor wind. The size of the range will also affect how the car pulls. A narrow rpm range will effectively produce a faster rate of boost vs. a wide range will have a slower rate of boost:
1000rpm start / 6000 end with 50 timing boost will provide 10 degrees of boost per 1000 rpm vs.
1000rpm start / 11000 end with 50 timing boost will provide 5 degrees of boost per 1000 rpm.
Spec Motors:
So far pan cars are using between 1,000 and 7,000 on most tracks. This is due to not having a gearbox and being direct drive.
TC’s are showing a useable range of 2,000 to 13,000 on most tracks. This is due to having a reduction gear box.
Turbo Timing: Top speed
Turbo Delay: This is the time that must expire at wide open throttle to engage turbo. This is NOT dependant on RPM’s in any way. Ideally this should be NO lower than .2 and in all likelyhood will be set at .4 or more. Tracks that have straights less than 80ft will likely NOT need turbo.
Turbo Ramp Rate: This is the literal ramp rate of whatever your turbo timing is set. So:
A turbo setting of 20 will give you the following reaction:
1.0 Ramp rate = 20 degrees in 1 second applied
2.0 Ramp rate = 20 degrees in .5 seconds applied
3.0 Ramp rate = 20 degrees in .30 seconds applied
So if you run timing it will just change the total applied, not the speed at which it’s applied.

That should answer most of your questions. If anything else is still un clear, speak up.
The only thing not mentioned is push control. Push control is the amount of throttle applied when in the neutral position.

so you will have a total of 53deg of timing when you reach 12000 rmp
