The Novak site says N is 30 degrees. Is that the same as 0 Deg on a Tekin motor? I only ask because it says in a Novak document that timing numbers from different motor manufacturers can mean different things.
I'm trying to figure this out because I have a 17.5T Ballistic I'm using with a RS Pro.

I don't know what Trinity's 17.5 is rated at in Kv, but a Novak is rated at 2200Kv, gotta think Trinity is about the same...
Lots of people running the new tekin software at the track yesterday, at MMR, it was VERY fast, the 17.5 1s 12th sacle cars don't even look or sound the same as before. I did see a few people haveing trouble with their Novak boosters browning out or acting up, a few switched to TQ or some Hong Kong booster, and the issue went away...

Does this mean that the average max RPM of any given 17.5 is about 16,280 rpms? (2200 x 7.4)

as i set my rpm at 3000 to 12000. Can i gear than heavier than as i set my rpm at 3000 to 6000?

You should be able to use a lower FDR (gear heavier) using the wider RPM range. Tightenting the RPM settings causes the total amount of timing boost to come in sooner. For example, if you select 30 degrees of timing boost and a 3000-6000 RPM range, you're adding 10 degrees per 1000 RPM while the motor is operating between 3000 and 6000 RPM. If you select 12,000 RPM as the end point and the same 30 degrees of timing boost, you're adding 3.33 degrees per 1000 RPM while the motor is between 3000 and 12,000 RPM.

im having problems with the new software. installed it on my computer...but when i pull up the HotWire interface im not seeing any of the RPM adjustments. its showing current version to be 203...also shows older versions. all of my parameters are still the same as vegas 1.0, but i just dont see rpm adjustability???
also, when i pull it up the interface...i get a little window that pops up saying my speed control may contain software that is not compatible with this HotWire. is that normal?

First, click on advanced, select 203 and update your speedo.
Then, once everything is done, close hotwire and reopen [a quirk in this new version]. Once it's back up, click the advanced tab, and you should have the RPM range adjustments.

OK I've gone over this thread and loaded my cars with V203.
From all of this, this is what I take from it with V203 software:
1. Keep static motor timing small (0 to 10deg max!) (you want the torque at the start till boost kicks in)
2. Boost between 35 and 50 (less with lower turn)
3. RPM window to match approx speed of car through average corner speed
(ex: car is 10km/h in the corners = ~2560RPM on a 12th scale with 65 MMPR, start turbo ramp there...end near top speed 3/4 down the longest straight...adjust accordingly). 17.5TC 5000ish to 15000ish
4. Turbo only as last bit on long straight..no less than 0.5s delay.
5. Throttle profile to your driving style (best to use linear)
6. Some drag brake (brushless rolls freely). 10ish in 12th, 20-30ish in TC
7. Turbo ramp 1 or 2
8. 13.5 12th ~ 60 to 70mmpr (per track); 17.5TC ~ 5 to 6 FDR. Adjust per track.
Let me know if this makes sense to all of you out there.

From stand still I had to go easy on the throttle to prevent burnouts. The same happened when punching the throttle midway through the corners. The car became a drifter! Infield power was incredible. So I reduced the EXP on my radio. With a solid front axle the car accellerates like a bullet. On the straight there was a continuous smooth accelleration all the way until I had to slam the brakes. In the end it outran both the 4.5T and 6.5T on the straight and infield. The only problem was that my wheel nuts kept falling off. Now I threadlock them in place. Awesome power. I don't need another motor to race in modified.

Is that every 10/th within the RPM range? How does this work with Turbo Boost? Does Turbo boost add all that timing at once where it is in the ramp?

Props to Tekin for making a wonderful product even better. I ran the new 203 this weekend and it is a very substantial increase in speed and torque. When I was running 1/12 on sunday, I had flash backs to last year when we were running 17.5 nimh. The one down fall this year with lipo in stock for me was the bottom end punch. This version alleviates that problem all together. Had plenty of low end which in crucial at the tracks I run at. I am thinking about doing some testing with a 13.5 in 1.12 on wednesday, Anyone care to share a good starting point for 13.5 1/12 on a medium but tight carpet course? Here is my setup I ran on sunday in 17.5 and it seemed to be very good:
