I tired reversing it all with both radios. For the record my radio is a DX3R and the radio with the car is a KO EX10 Helios, neither worked.

It's probbebly a sensor wire problem.
Thanks Ken for your help.
I will drive it in the dual mode on the 183 software. it's going good on that for now.
I'm going to try some other sensor wires soon.

So if we run v189 with say boost at 5 and motor timing where we normally run then we would essentially have v183 with only a little lurch when boost kicks in (and be able to gear like we would with 183) but all other parameters work the same correct?

"boost" is simply adding timing to whatever the motor is set at and doesn't "kick in". It primarily allows you to run the insane amount of timing the 17.5's need to get max rpm. If you leave the boost at 0 you will have the same setup as 1.83

Does boost work in both sensored and hybrid or just sensored?

Boost only applies in Sensored only mode

So is it out for general release? I want boost for this Sunday!

So how should I configure the RS for my SP 17.5 (fixed motor timing)? I've been running it with a SP 13.5 up till now -- throttle profile 4, 90% timing, hybrid mode.

I'm geared to an FDR of 3.6 with the SP 17.5.

I have run the Boost, along with 3 others on the track with boost, another running v183, others with lrp or brushed. Holding the car in you hand and slowly working the throttle you can see/hear a sudden change, on the track it is most noticable, if boost affects the entire range then something else in v189 is causing the non linear profile in at least 4 different cars. I know mine is set for linear profile ans knowing the other drivers (3 of which are Cleveland A main Alumni) theirs are liner as well.

At what speed/throttle position are you noticing the kick? I don't notice any kick although I am set on throttle profile 4

If holding the car in hand and giving it about 20% trigger pull and holding, it rotates for a second or two and then noticably picks up rpm.
On the track it kicks about 4 to 6 feet out of the corner. And with no drag brake or brake strength set in it makes it tricky to plan corner speed on short straights.

Also note it is with 1/12, 4cell, Trinity based 17.5. Tried both low and mid timing. Throttle expo at 0.

The sensor trees go bad in the duo motors often enough, it probably what it is. I had a brand new motor with a bad sensor tree

Just thought I'd mention something I noticed today... I moved my RS from a touring car into a 1/12 chassis, and when the isntallation was done I powerdd everything up for a quick check. Everything seemed to work well, except when turning the motor by hand I couldn't see the last three LED's cycling to indicate that the RS could see the sensors. I tried a few different sensor cables, and a couple of different motors, but no lights.

Just on a hunch I disconnected the 4 cell pack and powered the system up with a 7.4 LiPO from the touring car. Now I could see the sensor lights just fine.

Figured I'd mention it here to save someone the time of troubleshooting a possible non-problem... If you can't see the sensor lights in a 4 cell application, try 6 cell or LiPO power to see if it's really working or not before you go nuts swapping motors and sensor cables around...

This was with the RS running 1.80 firmware for what it's worth...
