I made two baseline runs with the LRP x12 17.5 (0 timing) and "Brand X" controller (timing 3) to find a suitable gear. After a consistent 6:30 run, i temped 202 degrees without fade on the x12, and 141 degrees on the speedo.

All i did was drop in the RS Pro with a baseline 'map' and repeated the above test with the same gear. The car was notably faster on the top end, and marginally smoother with a little more midband response... all to the tune of 163 degrees on the x12, and 117 degrees on the RS.

After some timing and boost adjustments, along with some delay change... the car was great in the infield, and ballistic (for a 17.5) on the straight! The x12 never temped over 180 degrees, so i have PLENTY of room to grow.

I cant wait till my RS comes back so i can get some wheel time with it! Kudos Tekin!
can you post the setup and size of the track as it gets asked allot for x12 setups

start with randys 13.5 large track setup geared closer to 8.0 to start as 99% of the time setups are the same with a diferent fdr

Thanks in advance
size of the track will work better

No problem, let me get exact track size info first. I know that plays a huge part in the settings.

Hey All,

I did the ol' "Hook up the battery in reverse" trick yesterday and fried my RS. I have sent Tekin an Email.. Im just wondering if anyone else has done this and had it repaired.... to get an estimated cost to see if its worth fixing or not.
Did not plug the battery in, i heard a noise when the connectors made contact (corally type) and instantly seperated... But now speedy does not work, smells, and when turned on just flashed the 4 outside LED's (two on each end)

Cheers
Phill

I did the same trick some time ago. To get it replaced, follow the service procedure at http://teamtekin.com/service.html. It will cost you US$79 plus postage. It's a lot cheaper than buying a new RS.

with a straightaways less than 100ft you wont use turbo it will be all timing boost and motor timing

If you are planning on running lots of dynamic timing with v203, start your FDR at 6.0.

Impossible. Turbo only kicks in once you reach 100% trigger pull...and there is a delay. Most people run a ~.5 delay.

Awesome day at the track with the RS. I asked, and was told our track size is 140'x60'. Its pretty flowing with a few technical sections and plenty of WOT time. Todays changes...

Air Temp: 85 degrees

Motor: x12 17.5

Motor timing: 1 dot

Motor temp after 6:30 run: 169 degrees

Brake: Drag 10, Strength 100%, Radio EPA 80% from 125%.

FDR: 4.821

Push: Off
Deadband: 7
Profile: 3
Timing: 24
Boost: 14
Delay: .4
Ramp: 1
End RPM: 15k
Start RPM: 5k

The car sounded like a missile on the front straight. NO fade, all pull. Simply awesome. Its the first time in years i was concerned about, and adjusted body aerodynamics on a stock class car (wing/front lip changes). It actually went fast enough to make a notable difference...

Supposed to be 0 timing. I didnt try any of the positive motor settings, and i didnt like the timing set at either -5 or -10 on the motor. It felt too punchy, and harder to modulate. Maybe with throttle profile 2, but i am used to linear steering and throttle and use very little expo if any at all. Ill try it out soon though.
