check your caps lock

Yes it will work w/ a 5.5, BUT i would strongly suggest you put 2 tekin caps on it and have a fan blowing on the posts as a just in case.

While the extra capacitor and a fan cooling the posts isn't a bad idea, if you plan on using a 5.5 in a TC chassis I'd look into upgrading to an RS Pro. Touring cars will draw a lot of current when used with low turn motors, and might cause the ESC to fail prematurely due to the high current demand.

i was racing at MACH heemstede today with my Tekin RS and Tekin 13.5

i had a top speed of 81.6 kph

this was my settings

Timing MAX
Turbo 12
Turbo delay 0.0
Throttle profile 5
Start revs 4xxx
End revs 10,xxx
Motor end bell timing 4 degrees
gearing of 6.44
fastest lap of 18.477

straight was around 80m long with a balls out fast as you like sweeper onto the straight

the top speeds of the day was 90kph and a best lap off 17.4 , the other guys were running the SP 13.5 v3 motors and i watched 5 of them cook today , they were about 60 degrees C and all stopped in smoke and smelling but not hot , weird !!!! all on Tekin RS speedos too

my motor didnt get above 70 degrees C although i had good punch out of the corners i missed a little top speed but over i was happy with my 1st visit to the MACH , difficult track with some HEAVY braking zones !!!

Good day , Thanks guys

Hi, anyone got suggestions for my setup? I have a little problem when releasing the throttle at high speed. It seems that the car would decellerate very quickly when just releasing the throttle, and only at high speeds. No drag-brake or push control is set. lowering the gearing 3 pinions helped a bit but now im coping with high temperatures, 90degree C. I want the car to roll like a brushless motor can do. At low speeds there is no problem.

here is my setup:
Boost: Max
Turbo: 15
Turbo Ramp: 2
Turbo lag: 0.2
Motor Timing: 15
FDR: 5.87
Boost start: 5447
Boost end: 20068

motor temp: +-90
track: 160ft straight and flowing technical sections.

thanks

I would check for mechanical issues first since you are noticing it at high speeds. Check the bearings, diff smoothness etc. Make sure the belts aren't to tight, etc.

most likely from being overtimed.
Have experienced this with out the motors getting hot.
would be great if there was a way to check max timing to prevent this.

i would try spreading the boost to a wider band, like to 20k rpm. this gave me a more linear acceleration. i also found that using a little turbo delay somehow you get more acceleration in the infield, i assume i dont full throttle in the technical sections but apparently i do. i gues this would keep your motor cooler. Also increasing the motor timing gives a Lot more punch and topspeed as well, give it a try!

Do you know the setups of those that had damaged motors? Would be interessting as i drive there as well .

Did they use the 0 delay turbo with high start rpm's or did they use the delay on the straight?

One of the guys was defenatly running 0 turbo delay and i think Eric was too

i heard that the V3 is ok but they were all adding 10 degrees motor timing on the end bell the marcels motor stopped , strange really because it wasn't hot

My only major car problem today was a little lack of top speed this i will experement with and try higher start and end revs , overall a good day for me and i think i get a trophey for the biggest air of the day , if xray start to make airplanes i think they need to call it the T3 phil edition
