Default LIPO with TEkin Rs

Could someone point in the right direction for LIPO's with the tekin rs 13.5 setup? I'm running sedan (TC5) w/fdr around 7. My track is a good size maybe 120ft straight or so. I don't want to buy the most expensive LIPO if it's overkill and I'm fairly new to LIPO's and don't want to make a foolish buy

Hard to beat the ThunderPower 5000 40C batteries.

Is 40c 5000 enough. I'm don't understand the numbers all that well but isn't the battery supposed to be enough to cover the max burst power. I think max burst is 312amps for the TEkin rs so this battery would only cover 200amps- sorry if this sounds dumb, but i'm very confused I was told that your battery needs to be able to cover this max burst power thing

Most batteries are rated at the continuous discharge rating (in this case, 40C or 200A). The "burst" discharge rate is generally 2x the continuous discharge rating, so 80C (or 400A) for this pack. But in real use, you'll only draw an average of around 30A with a 13.5. I wouldn't worry about the numbers game. These TP packs have been around for well over a year and nobody complains about them. They work, and they last.

First, I would suggest listening to someone you trust at your local track about which lipo pack to buy.

That being said...You are looking for 7.4V packs with discharge rating of 28C/40C/50C. For TC, I would suggest at least 5000 mahr packs. You may experience some power drop off with packs with only 4000 mahr. I use high end ThunderPower and SMC lipos depending on which has the better numbers at the time of purchase. According to some very fast drivers in NorCal...A-Main Hobbies has less costly packs sold under the name of Pro-Tek that seem to perform very well.

Hope that you have a lipo-capable charger because that is a fairly big issue too.

THIS TOPIC REALLY DOESN'T BELONG ON THIS THREAD...MY BAD.

Should be OK with an 13.5 and the RS. Before the 40C/50C packs came out, the "top dog" on the block was the SMC 28C rated pack.

Thanks for replys, Mikky, Randy and Jamming, i have 2 caps in ESC, and another 1 in receiver, (Tekin cap), The fan in solder to battery directly in the posts of esc, my system are Sanwa M11 (not X) and the receiver are RX-441DS, never have any problem similar to this.
The saturday, day before to race, i dont have any problem, and in the tests in my track, only sunday in the 2nd heat and in the rest of race.
My batteries are news Nosram 5900 50C, and the voltage are 7.3-7.5 at final of heats.

Greetings, Luis C.

PS: Well, with the problem i can clasiffy to A final, i finish 10, with only 4 minutes race in heats, very fast setup.

I have 2 setups for the Speedpassion V3.0 13,5T.
1 of them is just to much power and I changed back to my favorite setup.

I tried 3 setups.
This is the one that makes your car still drivable.
Boost max
Turbo 5
Turbo delay 0,4
Turbo ramp 2
Throttle 5
Start RPM 8000
End RPM 20000
Gearing 6,7FDR
Motor timing 10
The car accelerates very good.
I tried also 3600-7000 RPM but this was slower.
The car accelerated a bit slower. I think with the timing on the motor on max, that this was to much ad once.

Than I changed to this.
Boost max
Turbo 10
Turbo delay 0
Turbo ramp 2
Throttle 5
Start RPM 8000
End RPM 20000
Motor timing max
Gearing 6,7FDR
This was way to much power.
The car was like a rocked. I didn't came of the spot. I pulled black lines thanks to wheel spin. 2 meter long stripes and than I got of the Throttle.
This was incredible fast but hard to drive.

I field that with a higher start RPM that the car accelerated better even without the Turbo.

i would try a rx pack. I think the cap on the rx is just not enough to keep power to the rx. guys that run 1s with rx have yet to see this, so I figure the rx is keeping "brown" outs from happening.

Default which motor to get

hi guys.

what would be the best 13.5 motor to run with the rs ? reading through the 800 odd pages the popular choice seems to be the sp v3 or the x12

ive been told the tekin likes motors that can sit at 0's but reading i see the x12 timing is set at 40's
